Yeah, my plastic pulley broke into a thousand pieces so I couldn't measure the OD. I don't trust most forum measurements (like I led you wrong lol), but I swapped for a same size belt. Glad you're trying to not use the plastic pulley

Welp, I got the LS2 pulley machined to fit the pump shaft. But wouldn’t you know it, the offset is just a bit different and won’t line up with the other pulleys.
Oh well, live and learn. I also found that the corvette and F-body LS1s pulleys have different part numbers. So new plastic Fbody pulley is on the way.
Headers are also in for a ceramic coating.
Baby steps lately.
So I read that the most correct way to integrate the 2 cooling systems on a car not using a heater core is to tap and plug the port from the pump out to the core and plumb the inlet port to the expansion tank. So I figured if I was going to pull off the pump, I might as well just put a new one on, along with a 160 thermostat.
Also acquired and painted my new roll bar.
I’ve realized I’m going to have to support the engine and pull out the engine mounts in order to get the headers in place - once they’re back from ceramic coating. More baby steps.

That's a very nice looking roll bar!
Yeah it is. I bought it from a local fabricator who specializes in bmws. I picked a few options like the recessed harness bar and the harness stays. The fitment is better than the Autopowers and others I’ve used on previous projects.

I've been toying with the idea of an e36
Come on over. Ask Mike when he wants to ride the mini bike track again and we can have a lil party.
The e36 is a great proven chassis that can be picked up very reasonably. This one is straight and rust free and was only $500
Still waiting on the ceramic coat guy so I tried to get some small items done. Mounted the MKAH dead pedal and put some skateboard grip tape on the brake and clutch. MKAH makes some real nice stuff for the e36, but I’ve had to massage each piece I’ve bought them to get the fit perfect. I had to cut a notch in the dead pedal because they don’t have any provision for the chassis harness that runs in the same area.
Bolted the roll bar down and fitment of this thing is spot-on. Feet and backing plates are contoured perfectly for the floor board and wheel arches. I highly recommend Ben Sipson at Bayside Fabrication for BMW roll bars.
I’ve been debating when to buy a proper suspension for this thing and Ground Control’s Black Friday 10% off special was the push I needed to order their full coilover Street/school hybrid kit. I had their full race setup on my e30, and although it worked great, the creeks and pops that came from the strut tops were enough for passengers to give me funny looks. And honestly it made me cringe on occasions. The hybrid kit uses some urethane isolators that are supposed to eliminate that. I’m willing to give up a little performance to not deal with those noises. 525 front and 650 rear spring rates, in Ground Control red. Should be a solid setup.
The next Woodsman Cup is coming up in a few weeks and the Rebels been running funny. Time to give my first carb rebuild a try. We’ll see in a couple days, when I can bolt it back in, how I did. Only a few pieces of the rebuild kit left over. Lol.
Got the hard side in! Driver side should slide right in after I take the steering shaft outta the way.
It feels like a big victory! Picked up these Hans fitment harnesses for $92 on eBay. They’re FIA and made in the USA. I’m extremely pleased with the quality, especially at that price point!

Looks like the seller has bumped the price up a little bit. Maybe it was a black Friday deal I got?

Perfect! I've been looking for some of the cam lock style that fits my budget.
Headers look good by the way. I troll the CL for an e36 coupe every time I see a new post of yours pop up.
Got the drivers side header in and realized it’s going to be too close to the brake lines :/ I’ll have to drain the fluid, drill some holes through the frame and reroute them. Bummer.
What are these? Local guy was selling a set of 17 x NINE! style 5 reps for $400. I couldn’t pass them up. Not sure what I’ll do with them yet.
Rerouting the brake lines through the frame was more of a pain than I anticipated - flaring the lines from below and pushing them up through was a struggle.
Pretty new header needed some persuasion to clear the steering shaft. Still not done banging on it.

If they all came with tires you could try that drift thing all the kids are talking about.

She’s ready for a test fire!! I’m on the road Monday and Tuesday for work so I’m going to invite my dad over Wednesday night to give it a crank. He’s been a big help in the project and I’d like to have a 2nd set of eyes on it before and when I turn the key. I’m excited!!
