Rear springs, set ride height, align, reattach sway bars, and test drive!
275 on left, 450 on the right.
This is the rears. The 275 were already sagging, and had evidence of coil bind.
The car, before being driven at all on 750/450 and the threaded sleeves bottomed on the set screws is at 13.5 all the way around. We'll see if it settles at all on the test loop. Id hate to pull the sleeve set screws to get another inch lower. But 12.5/13 is recommended height.

Its stiff, but actually rides better than it did! I can lay all the power down now in second gear (is straight line and in low speed turns). Thing just STICKS.
Throttle response much better. Seems to maybe have more power.
5 miles in, stopped for Chinese. More miles after lunch, then a once over my work.
My GOD this is the car that should have been at the challenge. I CANNOT break it loose on the street. And we picked up rpm and power. And.....

Will it come back to the challenge, or is it over budget now? Well probably, but what about with some creative accounting and parts removal?
In reply to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :
That is definitely a possibility. It's not my primary goal at this point in time but it is an idea in the back of my mind.
75 miles today. Roughly. There's some Gremlins to deal with later, but it is ready 4 cruise nights and autocrossing and making memories with the munchkin

That's what it's all about!
Well done Sir!

This is NOT a good guide to successful miata ownership. So, with that said....
As a thread update: ive been driving it all over the place. Its a FUN car.

This is a bump for the coming weeks.
starting to get prepped for the first event of the year. Oil change, inspect, secure air intake system, remount wing and splitter, clean, and go. Event is Saturday. And its 97 here today....
I still absolutely love the green you painted this Miata. Hope you have a trouble free and fun event!

Yessir! Bringing a knife to a gunfight, but thats a given with my junk.
And foobag: i love it too! Such an odd shade.
Going from "stock restoration neon" to working on this mutant is a trip. Everything i did made sense at the time. but service is a motherberkeleyer. Eh. Its a fun car! Hopefully its not going to need service very often.
Gotta find a mouse nest still, but i caught the bastard!
Also wing mounted, last of tbe nitrous parts removed, splitter mounted, oil changed, hood adjusted, air intake fixed and mounted, tech inspection halfway done.
I am almost positive that the mouse nest is in the hvac box. And that he ate my fan relay wiring. Im done for the day. Between work and this, i think I will go play video games in the air conditioning.
Sooo, I ended up putting a decently built 3500 in my rx7.... picked up 35 hp. That was good for another 6 mph down the straight at Nelson ledges.
The 3500 really makes these things go a bunch better. Like omg, this is amazeballs.
Just saying...
Should bolt in and use the same accessories and trans and wire harness and ecu...

When this one goes searching for glory, yes. All day long, yes. But not until it makes one hell of a noise!
this stuff cleans up FAR better than rustoleum should. Some ollies spray wax and a little rubbing. and we get this.
Once the outside is clean again, ill tackle the mouse and fan.
So, mouse nest is most definitely in the hvac box. Im not pulling it before the event, and who knows what kind of snowball that will turn into. Ill do it next week, and just drive with the top down so i don't smell it. Ill also finally get the ac finished then as well.
Fan was a loose connection at the relay.
Its ready to go. Splitter remounted, with turnbuckle tensioners, added support, etc. Wing mounted through the cherry decklid. Hood adjusted. Water temperature warning light fixed. Washed, waxed, and armor all'd. Five point harness adapted to the stock seats since my fat ass doesn't fit into the butlerbuilt anymore.
Ill take a better picture outside later today.
