Outside Charlotte in a little town called albemarle. If you're ever in the area well go for a ride and ill buy you a dollar cheeseburger from the drive through!
And this miata makes you touch yourself to work on. Three elbows in the same arm are required for most service operations.....

I may do that! Im about 4 hours away. We live on the coast about 15 mins from the beach. If you ever want a beach vacation and a place to crash come on over! Ill take you to Els drive in for a burger too!

Dunno. But don't really think it would much. At least not the stubs. And the safety factor of having a way home is worth more to me than the downside to aero.

Yes i do. And that was my goal this year before the world ended
So, to recap: four runs. Two in the 64-65 second range were my first and third runsm third run a spun.
Secont run was a 60.xxx. only clean run.
Fourth was a 69. Looped it, then got lost.
The other guys in xs-b, both miata guys, were in the 58s. The fast guys overall were at a 46. Most were in the low 50s.
Im ok with what i got.
The car, which fir me is the easy part, was pretty much flawless. The vented hood dropped coolant temp by 15 degrees, and reduced trans tunnel temps significantly. The new spring rates and federal rs-rr tires made the car have a lot of stick. Right up until it didn't. I had no feedback from the ass end that i could discern. But i was also left foot braking and leaving it in third for the whole course.
The car has more power than i can use at this point in the meat sack development process.
It NEEDS more muffler. Just too damn loud now that the packing blew out of the glasspack.
It also NEEDS air conditioning to be finished. I honestly was sick from the heat by the time I got home, and it was only 90 something. And i had the top up for shade.
The aluminum seat vs the modified miata seats is a wash. I wasnt moving around or having to brace myself against the car. Same with 5points vs 3 point. They didn't really make a difference.
The larger diameter steering wheel is awesome. Much less tiresome car now.
My bag chair broke. With me in it. It sucked.
Good day at the track, and not a lot to do other than tighten the loose nut behind the wheel.

2 seconds off in your class doesn't sound bad for as little seat time you've had in it.
Thanks y'all! Im pretty happy with how it all came out. Overall, a good outcome. I need a LOT more seat time to learn how to drive this thing. Its way more capable than the driver
Arg.
So, Saturday evening i decided to finish the ac.
Munchkin and i used a string to measure the length of the needed belt.
Four trips for longer belts later, i have one.
It also needed two fittings crimped. Well, after my fourth try, i give up. It just not happening. Leaks every time fro. One fitting/hose interface or another.
Now i cant find the leak.
Its stopped being fun. Time to reassemble and walm away.

Think the belt is going to take advantage of the throttle body once it gets drunk?
Good time autocrossing today. Still dfl on class, this time by six seconds....
Car continues to work fine, near as I can tell. So i dunno if being this far off the pace is car or driver, but my money is on driver.
But, i beat the vintage British car guys! (Barely) So at least i have that going for me....

Have you asked one of the other drivers to drive it while you ride passenger?
Stampie: unfortunately, we don't get fun runs here. So, there really hasn't been the chance to ask a fast guy to run it
Jim: definitely. I will say my lack of competitiveness in class is frustrating. But, it WILL get better.

I didn't have as much fun at autox as I thought because I built the car I wanted to drive every day and was in a class I'd never be competitive in. I was always the winner when I got to work in the morning though
