So I traded my e36 for an 87 325e in similar shape.
This one has a working manual sunroof, a working radio (blown speakers though), and an ETA LSD swapped in.
Most importantly though, it’s got a name already:
I have no idea of the backstory on this car but it’s a fun (very slow) driver, and I can’t wait to throw some power at it and tighten up the handling a bit.
Known problems so far are a mild slipping clutch, rattles everywhere, lack of a shifter knob, various gauges inoperative, and the blown speakers.
Will be getting a full list as the weekend progresses, and an idea of what I’ll be doing going forward.

Is the plan to keep the eta? If so, I've got a nib water pump and an ecu chip you can have for a sixxer of something tasty. I see you're in Richmond. Planning to run any of the wdcr events? Next is actually tomorrow.

I’ll definitely be running wdcr! And yes I’ll probably keep it eta til this season is over and fix it up to good stock e car spec, then over the winter I’ll really build it up.
Plans are full Dakar ready suspension, racks, skid plates, wheels/tires, etc
plus a swap for actual speed.
I’ve been really mulling over the i head swap plus turbo, vs maybe an sr20, maybe an m52/m54, and daydreaming of an s62 or something thereabouts.
For now I need to replace the clutch and I’m sure a lot of while-you’re-in-there bits, fix some exhaust leaks and rattles, and do a bunch of deferred maintenance.
I’d like to flock the dash to tidy it up and hide cracks, and find a glovebox piece and, most importantly, a shift knob lol. Having nothing to grab onto has been a little irritating but frank has been great on all the countryside jaunts he’s been on lately (reaching speeds in excess of 70mph!) and the city driving to work.
I cleaned him up and took a couple more photos I’ll post below:

i probably won’t be ready for events for another few weeks probably, but I’ll be ready before either of my coworkers that also want to run at least. We’ll probably take turns running in the e30 just to all get seat time.
