I'm pretty sure that's what she said.

I'm pretty sure that's what she said.
She did say that. Unfortunately, not at the right time. This is why I have a three year old demolishing my living room.
Anyhow, I made a bit of a detour today. I realized that of I was going to get this project right, I needed a bigger work surface. So, it was time to rescue my erstwhile drawing desk.
But first i needed food. Because.......this is where I have to rescue it from. At one point this was my home office/work space, for building rc cars and such. Once Gibson became mobile, my wife started turning it into a dumping ground for stuff he couldn't have. Once I left the office works, I officially gave up on that room altogether. That was Two years ago. I'm still finding empty packs of cigs in there. Truly shameful. But when you work overnight, and are a full time parent, there's a whole lot of berkeley it in your day.
Anyhow, I had to dig it out. And dig, I did. It was unpleasant. At the same time, I decided I needed to resurrect my dead Asus g73, because I'm a glutton for punishment and it has thousands of files on it I need and want. The good side of this was that I inherited a flat screen monitor from my grandmother who died, so this was actually going to be pretty easy. That works pretty good, I think. It's still in testing at this point as I had to do a system restore and several other things to get the Asus to run. Why do you ask? Because my wife is the clumsiest woman on earth and has to ruin anything of value in our home. This the third laptop of mine shes maimed and the third time.she maimed this one. This is why we can't have nice things.all dressed up and nowhere to go. She's as stable as she can be, right now. Apparently I have to address a bursted leg clamp ony desk, but other than that, were good to go.
I am well aware. My shame is great. But I also blame it.on the wife. She just piles my kids E36 M3 in there, then she gets an idea and he gets more E36 M3 that we just don't need.... I spent 15min picking up golf tees yesterday. It's December in Minnesota and.I haven't golfed.in 10 years. Why we have golf tees......
I don't mean to hijack your thread with AE92 stuff, but this seems to be where the corolla wagon people are hanging out...
Do you know if these "wagon lights" or whatever they are called, are a direct bolt on to a AE92 wagon like mine? I really like these.
I am not sure, to be honest. In looking at the hood it appears the leading edge is different. The corners should be plug and play..... But that hood is something special. Lemme do some digging.
Edit- it appears the wagon face is a drop in, and gangster as hell. You need that. What was throwing me off was the squint strip under the headlights that the wagon face doesnt have, because all the trim bits flush up to the bumper.
Hooray, it's Saturday! I've been up since 4am and its 11pm now. The neat thing is, the truck stop is perfectly happy selling me half a gallon of coke in a cup with more than a little cherry flavor thrown in. I also got to have a charming conversation with a trucker about zz top because he thought I should sing for them because my beard is rad. Trucker complements on the beard? That's impressive.
Anyhow, I was up since 4 because wouldn't you know it, the day after I get an all clear from the migraine doc, someone throws a demolition derby in my skull. Now given the nature of my employer, I have access to EXTREMELY good painkillers. But that's sort of a real good way to lose my job and end up on dea lists, so I passed. I whiled away the time playing pinball, and for my life to end. Along the way, I came up with some ideas. I'm redoing the g, again. But the basic principles at this point is, take the cross bread up top, stick it in the middle, and work the grocery life around it. I thought I took more pics but apparently my phone is whore.
All is not lost though. I rekindled an interesting connection I have in the journalism community in my friemd Randy. Randy is a writer for several publications, most notably one of the local GLBT papers, that does car reviews. Randy and I hung out and talked cars and so on, and he told me that his current car was an x-vin (pre-pro) 2015 charger rt. He was smart enough to not give me the keys after what happened with the turbo ats. (We didn't steal it, but apparently we weren't supposed to open it. And we opened it. Fit a surprising amount of dead hookers in the trunk, and the door handles light up). But, I did take pics. Sorry, they're Craigslist quality. no interior pics, that whole lack of keys thing. But what is nice.is Randy has a pretty good.journalistic following, and he is amused by my shenanigans. So that's cool.
After we departed the Xmas party where Randy and co. Were at, I realized, I was about to be late for work. So in a panic, I installed some emergency horsepowers to get me to my appointed post on time.by the grace of god, a lack of traffic +15 horsepowers, and cops with better things to do than pop a guy in a wagon for speeding, I made it. I'm beginning to think these stickers have magical anti ticket properties too.
Did you find anything in the room you were like, "holy E36 M3, I forgot I had that!" I did that last week and found the extra TT01 frame.
That Charger looks like a blown up Dart, hopefully, with a much better interior....
I did, actually. I've been bitching that my mail man had been stealing my copies of GRM, and I found two copies of the december issue. I've also been finding various drawing implements that have been purchased repeatedly, pencils and erasers and the like. I have like 6 pencil sharpeners now.
More work today. I spent a good 3-4 hours working on the g.
Hours tweaking, turning, staring, erasing, and the end result? I'm dumping the whole concept. I can't make the secondary font work to my liking and it ends up looking too forced and hokey. Now I could simplify the g and go back to capitalizing all the letters graffiti style, but that will end up turning into a E36 M3show and will be impossible to replicate. So, I think im going to take a cue from the cross bread and work a slightly more traditional script and get my flavor that way. Don't worry, it will still be bonkers.
I like the thought process. I autocrossed my wagon today. Jokes from the announcer whether I was going to pick up milk on the way home. I NEED a Grocery Life sticker.

Hehehe it'll happen.
Wait, hold up, she broke a Asus G series screen? I once accidentally dropped a berkeleying crowbar on my G53 and didn't hurt it besides a little gouge in the lid.

She's broken TWO g series screens. That's the second one.
So, I stopped at the truck stop this morning (I pass one on my way to and from work) because I had a brilliant idea. You see, I love red flavor. Cherry and fruit punch most of all. And the new trend in soda fountains is to put a button to add your own flavor to the soda. So, I took and added a bunch of red flavor to mt dew code red, for double red flavor. I probably have cancer now, but it was amazing.
In any event I was all hepped up on goofballs and in the mood to ruin my hand, so I sat down at my desk to do a little work. Hey look, a new g! Kiiinda boring though. there's a bit more flavor....
At this point, I had to set the pencil down and take my kid to an appointment. All was not lost though, because I discovered his therapist has a miata hot wheels in her stash and I've made a bargain for it. Always ready to make a deal.
Once home, I crammed some pizza in our faces and set back to work. Oh hey,now that's lookin a little more fancy like... Maybe just a touch more.... That'll do pig, that'll do.
I take that as high praise. I'll warn you now, at least the fancy version of GL will be big as berkeley. The paper it's on is 17" wide.
I have spent more time at my desk.hey neat, an l! Let's spice it up a little more. OK, so I skipped a few pics. But, here you can finally get a feel.for what this is going to turn out like. I am having massive difficulty with the subscript, for whatever reason. I'll get it figured out eventually.
E36 M3, have I really been sitting at my desk since the last post? Why yes, yes I have. Beating my head against a wall is my preferred method of figuring something out. And oh did I ever. BUT- I made results! the last pic is actually pretty close to what I think the finished product will look like. The o's are just place holders, since in a lot of script lettering the roundy letters tend to look the same and I intend on working that angle for the sake of adding some rad extensions and stuff. One of the other things I don't like is that i, but we'll slay that dragon when we get to that cave. All in all, not bad. I'll probably do some more tonight, but my desk chair berkeleying sucks and my back hurts.
v1, beginning to be inked. I was up all last night fretting over the details and finally I said berkeley it, if I don't get into ink today, this this is going to kill me. The likelihood of me doing a v2 is almost 100%, but HOPEFULLY it will go faster than v1 since I have the concept.
You'll need to log in to post.
