Is that the location of the rod bearings you need?

Decluttering my garage, I have a complete wiring harness from a '95 LT1. I think I had an idea at some point to put a 4.3 crank and rods in an LT1. Any interest?

Yes! If nothing else, I can harvest some connectors from it. I'll trade you a 3/4"-16 tap if I have one. Will know later today.

Thanks Sean, I feel the love. It's my Suprang, 20 years late.
The Suprang has certainly been inspirational.
Totally.
With the RS6 in the driveway, I've been told that MonZora engine rebuild is my new highest priority, LOL. So today I set out to get the garage cleaned up and rearranged, from fab shop to engine R&R shop. Before:
During:
Car is still a 3-level shelf, but that will change in the next work session. Tomorrow is family day, might get a few hours in the evening, but maybe not til Tuesday. Hush hush.
I hung my engine stand from the ceiling with bicycle storage hoist to get it out of the way when not needed.......
Y'all still out there? Well, if you are, then this update is for you. And if you're not, then this update is for me.
Engine removal began this evening. I kinda bounced around a little but it all makes sense to me. Peeling an automotive onion, I guess. I'll do my best to include all steps, as well as to note all the improvement opportunities I see along the way.
That's where I left off for the night. I'd like to thank the RJD Black Sabbath, specifically The Mob Rules, for providing the soundtrack to my evening.

2026, brother. I've got too much going on for a run at 2025. I will be at the event, but only as a spectator and PLB helper.

Oh good. Thanks for that
I'm betting your load bar that you can't beat a 1.4 liter car.

You're on!
Knowing that you were working on MonZora in the early minutes of this morning makes my birthday even more special, lol. Glad to see you getting more done on it!
Lots going on lately, managed to sneak in a little MonZora time today.
The engine oil had about 10 miles on it. What I drained out was thin, grayish, stinky, and sparkly. I will autopsy the filter tomorrow and post results.
I've also been identifying what stuff goes with what car. Ody and Saab are going away later this summer, and I want to make sure everything that belongs with them actually goes with them.
more later.
Everybody say it with me:
Angry, you're *still* an shiny happy person!
This time it's because I didn't torque the rear caliper mounting bolts.
Caliper mounting bolts? Don't feel bad. Those are brake parts. Not everyone is a brake specialist. 😛

Yikes! That's okay, I forgot to torque the axle nuts on the Europa...didn't find out until after the second autocross run
