Keep this momentum going! Even if it's 10-30 minutes out in the garage doing something. I love seeing this thread at the top of "Latest Topics" even for small updates.

So much this.
Thanks to Duster, Shawnee, and Stampie, for sourcing / storing / bagging / shipping a set of 28.0/10.0-17 Hoosier D06 drag slicks, and special thanks to Stampie for the heart-warming pic and note.
In Stampie's words, "man I thought it'd be years before you found that!"
unfortunately a berkeleyed kitchen sink and dishwasher ate up my Saturday garage time, and today's has mostly been consumed by yard work. (Checks time...) holy crap, it's only 2PM?!?! Dang, maybe I *will* have a MonZora update tonight!

Hoosier Drag slicks say Bye bye transaxle. But you can always just buy more.

I fully intend to break transaxle #1. For science, you know? And they're so cheap, I'm probably gonna keep a couple around just in case. Here's today's pricing via car-part.com:
I am stalking Audi transaxles too. For reasons.
I hope to see results from yours before I buy my own!
Gonna give Robbie credit for the idea and DeadSkunk credit for reminding me to do this.
yeah, the alignment of the outer bits isn't perfect, but it's working just fine:
and it's hard to argue with the result:

I want one .....what is the model# address etc.
Worked late tonight getting ready for a 3-day trip to our vehicle assembly plant, so won't be in the garage again until the weekend. :-(

You got time. I'm tentatively planning 2024, and since I'd very much like to witness this creation in person, I'd say you have three years. If you push past that deadline, well, then you're just being lazy.

Visit again on your way home and throw free bmw wheels at me
Made a little more progress on the coolant tubes tonight, and discovered that past me was looking out for present me. Gas tank attaches high enough above crossmember that the coolant tubes can pass between them.
I think it makes the installation look cleaner, but it doesn't eliminate any bends. Note: pic doesn't really illustrate what I'm talking about, but everyone likes pictures, right?

Like when Marge catches Homer mixing Vodka and Mayonnaise and says "oh Homer, I don't think that's such a good idea," and he replies "that's a problem for *future* Homer!"
In reply to AngryCorvair (Forum Supporter) :
Or when past you leaves "a glass of water" for future, hungover you and its vodka.

One early morning at a friends party I woke up quite hungry. The only thing I found was a big bowl of jello in the fridge so I downed 3/4 of it. It started off one hell of a bad day.
AC keep it up man. Love the updates.
Looking at the picture of the front radiator I have a question, have you looked at the Davies Craig Electric water pump system? I was involved with the refresh of a Porsche 914 running a small block Chevy and we ran into a coolant flow issus when the car was at idle. Relying on the motors water pump to move a volume of required fluid at idle and low speeds did not happen to cover the heat build up created by the motor.
The Davies Craig system also incorporates a electronic thermostat that will continue to circulate coolant after you shut down the car, eliminating the heat soaking of the motor. The system needed to fill and burp the coolant is also a learning curve of it's own.
David
But if you use the concept of augmented coolant flow and Bosch pumps that are used on lots of German cooling systems( Audi comes to mind) you can duplicate anything. It's the electronic parts that offer the challenge.
I like working with wheels, I feel no need to create them.
