FD RX7 16x8s that have been powdercoated "vintage white" then hit with a very flaky clear.

20mm spacers to make said FD RX7 wheels clear my suspension when they're wrapped with the 245/45-16 RS2s i've been saving for this occasion. Of course, clearing the suspension doesn't mean E36 M3 when it comes to clearing the body when using possible the widest tires ever fit to a GD chassis MX6/626 street car. (I like a challenge. The Celica's wheel/tire package wasn't supposed to work according to the internet, either.)

And an Ebay oil filter relocation kit that i snagged for $9.

Why would you relocate the oil filter? At stock ride height I could change the filter on my 626 without a jack; slide drain pan under filter location, open hood, reach around the intake manifold and swap old for new. Only car I've had where I could change the oil without lifting the vehicle at all.

We've been without power here since around 7pm Friday from those storms that came through. The brother in law brought usus a 3000watt generator down from Columbus at 4am. We'll most likely be without power for another 5-7days... ugh. Lol wheels look good Ben! My cars scatgered across the garage awaiting time to work on spraying some paint ;-)

4th gen to current Maxima (and actually most FWD V6 Nissans)-turn wheel right to full lock, reach behind splash shield and remove filter, remove 14mm drain bolt. No jack required.

In reply to Nitroracer:

Absolutely not!

In reply to pres589:

Makes it easier to get an oil cooler setup going. That said, changing the filter can suck for me depending on how many bowls of Wheaties i had the last oil change.

In reply to dansxr2:

Sorry to hear man. Can't wait to see the paint!

In reply to Sethmeister4:

Me neither! Gotta find a roller to use, though. Next weekend will be lots of wheel/tire shuffling. The wheels/tires have to come off MX6 and go on Celica. MX6 winter tires have to go in MX6. Have to drive up to garage, dismount Celica tires and put on FD wheels. Then the fun begins.

It's busy... spent most of the day today going through the Miata as well. Drained and filled diff and trans with Redline stuff, removed the terrible Sirius radio install that the car had, removed a Dash Mat and cleaned up the interior.

Found that it needs shifter boots and a new shift bushing, so that's the last steps i need to do before i take it in to get tuned so it doesn't run like dogE36 M3 anymore.

Well, i believe we're taking mndsm's car next year. Gariathon might bring his this year, but that's up in the air.

I'm putting a T3/T4 on my local buddy's black 88 next weekend, trying to talk him into going.

Waiting on when we can go get the other red 90 from Chicago for my other buddy.

And i might have sourced a shell for some hilarious RWD F2T shenanigans for $2013. If i can get it to hook, i'm chasing 10s.

Took the car out of a 2 month slumber on Monday, she started right up and after about 5 minutes the lifters were quiet again.

Realized that i missed driving it. Can't put my finger on it, but it's like a comfy pair of slippers.

Slapped on the FDs and beat the hell out of my fenders with a hammer. To my knowledge these are the widest street tires ever fitted to a 1st gen MX6. I lucked out with my calculations. I have about 5mm of clearance to the strut.

Realized that i messed up my AFPR install, so i need to sort that out. I have the headroom to push over 20psi on my current Zombie chip i think, so i'm just going to roll that to the Challenge since i don't really have the money/time to finish with the HKS setup by then.

Oh, and got a neat part in the mail for it. Yes, the box is from the original source.

Yep, like... my tires not getting any rounder and me not going because i can't afford another set of tires.

Provided i get even just a 50% reduction in vibration though, game on.

It's REALLY strange to drive this thing with all the grip these tires are providing, though. It feels a LOT like the Celica did before i parked it, just with about 3x the power.

Are you coming down for Florida?

Well funny thing.... after the last big update when i finally got it running right, it destroyed a pair of front tires in 3 weeks, to the point that it was undriveable. So i was forced to drive the Jeep for a month or two, she's driving the MSM.

Now the Jeep needs brakes, so i need to get that taken care of while i drive the MX6, so she can drive the Jeep when i drop the MSM off in Louisville for the week to finally get a retune. (More money i don't really have, but it's gotta be done, i can't deal with that car anymore the way it is.)

The MX6 IS my daily driver, so barring incidents, it gets driven every day. It's had some incidents over time, though... I've only put 22k miles on it in the last 3 years.

I would love to, but I have less vacation time due to switching jobs, so its not a possibility this year.

I keep saying "next year...", this time I mean it

I like 'em on FDs... i'm honestly not entirely sold on them on my MX6. I'll take better pics today.
