hey y'all

Little about me. Been into cars since I was a kid. My dad wrote dozens of books on cars and did a lot of his own photography. My wife and I have several cars. I am currently building a brand new 1969 Mustang Boss 429 tribute car right out of the NPD catalog (with no experience)- piece by piece. Been a 4 year project and has been great. Almost done the shell. Ordered a 600 cubic inch Boss 9 from Jon Kasse a few weeks ago :)

Link to my youtube channel with the build- I need to make a more recent video- but you'll get the idea: https://youtu.be/WKP0ds7rQns

So why im here posting.....

I recently bought a Nascar chassis that has a 355 Chevy V8 with a new 3 speed auto and super charger. It was a friends and he is going through a divorce. He said he bought it as a bare chassis and since added the suspension and drive train. I am trying to find info on it as he doesn't have much if any.

Since buying that car a couple months ago- I have suddenly found myself owning another one and a body for the naked chassis. Ooof....

Ok here goes....

The naked care looks symmetrical but I am not sure. The black car definitely looks asymmetrical and is definitely a real racer (im thinking short oval). I basically bought the black car sight unseen. What i would really like to do is sell the naked car and use the black car for track days (retire my Viper that I have been having fun with on the track). I think a Nascar would be really fun and obviously the safest thing for me to rip around road courses with too. So, i would need to figure out how to set up the car for left and right turns. The black car did come with a new steering box but I don't know much about it.

The naked car has a serial number on the right side of the cage that reads PRS 07 04/97 and the black car has what appears like 0F 001- 11-98 along with a barcode and ARCA CHASSIS 20063158 (hard to tell as whomever tried to remove the paint also removed most of the serial number along with it)- also this number on the back bumper 88958625

The naked car starts and runs exceptionally well. Previous owner had it in his 68 C10 and made something like 550hp.

He wanted the car to be a 2 seater so he cut out the right side cabin bracing and ive got a second seat for it. Have a digital dash I need to wire up and the shifter doesn't engage the transmission correctly and needs some tweaking and it'll be a fine driver.

Here's the body I found for it:

And here's the black car:

I live in central florida and I really need some advice and help with finding out what the black car actually is and how I can convert it to a symmetrical suspension.

Thanks

Peter

Very cool. I don't have any personal advice to share, but we have an ASA Stock Car project on the back burner:

2003 American Speed Association Stock Car

And I know a few others here on the forum are playing with similar cars, too, so they should be able to offer some assistance.
