Never thought I'd have a vette in the driveway....
Good news: its not mine
Better news: my dad is finally letting me cut up some E36 M3 to fix his car (not the vette)

She's someone else's abandoned kart project. Runs, drives, 76k miles
Going to take all the good bits and put them under a '50 chevy coupe!
Very cool and eager to see what you do with it.
And here is what we're swapping all the parts to.

Oooohhhhhh.
I approve of this plan :D
that's a C4 right?
if so, pretty similar to a Plymouth Rod that ran OneLap a bunch of times.
In reply to sleepyhead the buffalo :
Yeah, 93 C4
The joys of VATS have already sunk in and apparently two weeks in a heated garage turns a running C4 into non running....
I'm going to need help figuring out how to ditch all the factory wiring while keeping the stock ECU...(Because it'll never be modded while my dad owns it and the stock tune is probably much better than any aftermarket ECU will be able to do)
That looks like a great plan. The coupe already looks awesome!
Started pulling the 50 apart yesterday. Was able to sell the engine and transmission within an hour of starting to pull them and they were put of the garage shortly after finishing.
My plan of attaching the vette suspension has shifted a bit but I'll have to see how things line up.

The further I dig into this car the worse it gets...

Has an aftermarket wiring harness but everything was done poorly. Random wires added, multiple routes to same locations, wrong size wire, etc. That's just the start of it too....
In other news we've crossed the point of no return. Frame cut, subframe notched, just beginning to fabricate the new frame rails.

New motor mounts were made so that the engine now sits up roughly 2-1/2" and forward 4" relative to the axle centerline. This lets me tuck the steering rack between the balancer and the oil pan for the least amount of rise required. Things are going to be tight at the firewall but it's better than lifting the engine a full 5" to go forward 7" to natch the original location in the '50.
This has already proven to be the right choice as the things will be getting tight in the trans tunnel now as well thanks to the C4 subframe being super awkward to try to clip on to the '50 with rectangle tube. Winding up with what probably going to be a lower ride height than desired in order to not have a super funky frame rail.
Are you also swapping the rear suspension to the '50 or keeping the live axle?
Will also be swapping the rear suspension. Should be enough room under there for an extended torque arm and early measuring says the frame rail will need notching for the link arms but if I could modify those to have an offset and leave the frame alone
The vette clip is now attached to the '50

Trimmed some ugly off the firewall and brackets making some extra room too

Was an absolute pain to get in there but it shockingly clears the firewall.

And heck yeah....the wheel position came out good. Still not full weight on the suspension but close...the 50 has to be lighter than the Vette.

Getting closer.
Rear suspension is in but need spacers to get the tires to clear the frame... even after trimming the frame lip back a bit. So waiting on spacers and extended studs but couldn't wait to check if my math on ride height was close.
