Same here! sadly, I get to go on another parts hunt today. We are missing some orings that didn't come in the gasket kit that I thought were included. It was technically an urraco gasket kit, and half the gaskets fit the jalpa, the rest are for the urraco.
but i think the place i went to yesterday will be able to get them for me. so, fingers crossed. heads are being worked on today, we're close. so so so close.
I will update mine to 288.3 hp considering mazduce and my brain's somehow came up with the same number.

Updated! This is going to be interesting.
241 hp due to ignition related issues (advance not working properly, spark scatter) and Megasquirt teething problems. Once these are overcome (this will probably be the most joyous aspect of the build), I'm looking for a solid 25 hp over stock. Watch your break-in process. Have fun but don't be impatient. You (and we) have come way too far. Once your motor starts making pulls in earnest, stop the procedure if you start losing a little power over a couple of pulls. Take the time to examine possible causes.
Don't be disappointed by results. The displacement isn't that large so it's not like a big-block Chevy gaining 100 horsepower from a set of heads and a better exhaust. Also, you're looking at an old DIN horsepower rating which, while not as inflated as SAE Gross, was nowhere near as realistic as SAE Net.
Here's to a great session with everything going beautifully and an exotic Italian engine screaming its thanks for resurrecting it from the grave. I'm actually sitting here like a nervous uncle at the maternity ward.

I plan on doing a livestream from my phone, but also recording on my HD Camera to post on youtube and what not. if I can figure out how to livestream from the HD Camera, I'll do that as well. I could, alternatively, hook up an HD camera and use a live stream from my laptop.
So tomorrow's Friday right? That's end of the week right? Am I wrong to be acting like a 6 year old on Christmas Eve?
