i tried to convince the customer to go that route. He was worried about potential changes down the road which powdercoating really rules out. Let me tell you it was a marathon shoot. almost 6 hours to shoot the whole thing.

Makes sense I guess.
While I have you on the line, I figure you might have insight on a product that would, on the surface, appeal to us home painters. I am a fan of Evercoat's Featherfill, but hate that it can't be applied to bare metal. Do you have any experience with their new product that CAN be applied DTM?
In reply to NOHOME : that's exactly what we used. Pounded on really nice. Only thing we would have done different is use a different tip on our hvlp gun. It sanded almost exactly like feather fill.
We let it sit for almost two weeks to let it cure
doors got their first coat. Added another oil separator in line. Going to have the driest air this side of the Mississippi
another primer laid down. This round will be 220 and 320 grit sand before the final prime and 400. Two little spots I'm unhappy with. It's coming.

kudos to you and whoever else had their hands in that job. that is one fine 3rd gen.
still owe the customer the front clip and doors.
in other news Norma needs heads pullled leaking on both head gaskets. Poo
drove the galaxie a hour yesterday during 90 degree weather. Need to adjust some small things. It's coming!
There's a 4-door just up the road from me, but for almost $2000 it's not exactly in the best shape that would make it worth it. Every time I see this thread I get the itch for a 60s/70s big body sedan, despite the fact that I don't need any more projects at this point in time.
Pulled norma back into the front of the shop to finish the brake booster install i failed in last year. Had to modify the need unit to fit. And now the master is dead again 🙈.
New unit from wilwood arrived tonight to replace the two Chinese units that have failed in less than six months.
So i have never figured out the brakes on this car. Been super unimpressed with the performance and feel. After chasing multiple things it was literally the dumbest thing ever.
i never put the insert in for the master cylinder. Epic fail
