First coat of paint went on a few days ago....
Topped It off with black.
And now with more bed rail:
Knee braces Really stiffened it up. No more swaying.
I guess now I have to lay down the floor panels and build a structure, then railing.
That's cool. I haven't built a treehouse in years. Do you think the diagonals going toward the tree will let it sway enough in the wind?
I got some help from Indy kid #3 this morning....
And I had to teach him a thing or two about construction work, so I went ahead and hammered my thumb REAL hard.
As a result, I also taught him some new, colorful words to add to his vocabulary.
Nailed (& screwed) together now.
And the second wall all finished.
I need to make an exact duplicate of the second wall. Then it's make a wall with a door opening.
I'm trying to decide what to do about the door.....
Make one from scratch, buy exterior prehung, or Maybe even a screen door.
I like the idea of a window in the door. But remember I'm a cheap skate.
Suggestions?

This project is like most construction jobs. Running WAY behind schedule. The pallet door sounds like a lot of time commitment.
1 piano hinge. You have the decking in place. Go center to center between two joists. Make it a little longer than the joist spacing. Just draw the rectangle, gauge your saw the decking thickness plus a fuzz. Cut one of the lines over a joist, cut the hinge to length, and screw it on. Cut the other three lines and your done. You could add 2x across the joists for door stop if you thought it needed it.

Yep. A trap door is in the plans for access to the open platform area. Door in question is the one to the 'house' area under roof.
You can see the door here. The observant will note the drawing now shows the support legs, window configuration update and change to single plane roof.
