Saab seems to be pulling some timing and boost when it's warmed up fully. Not sure if the fuel map is off or what's going on. I should probably just hook up the wideband O2 I have sitting on the shelf so I can actually log fuel trims accurately.

After a couple more months of daily duty, I haven't really noticed it pulling timing. I think there was still some carbon on the valves that was creating some weird hotspots when warmed up and that issue has subsided. I do have a mystery oil leak now though. I don't believe it to be the oil cooler lines that I have delayed replacing because it's cold. I think it may be PCV system related because it's coming from somewhere on the back side of the motor but not from the valve cover. The other thing that makes me think it might be PCV related is the oil cap and dipstick will have a white murky goop on them like from moisture mixing with oil but I don't have any oil mixing with coolant in the reservoir or overheating issues. I'm at a little bit of a loss on this right now, this car was getting driven this winter because it didn't leak oil like the Yukon. I'm very tempted to just fix the rear main leak on the Yukon and sell the Saab this spring. If I get a job offer somewhere warmer in the next couple weeks the Saab is absolutely going up for sale.
The oil pressure sender on those is on the back of the engine, behind and down from the starter, and are known to leak. Its not a terrible job to swap but I found it easier with the starter unbolted.
Putting this car up for sale $2500 obo to a GRMer. Lots and lots of spares from some creative Challenge accounting. It's a fast turbo drivetrain in a comfy, weird Swedish Accord.
I'm moving to Savannah next month and this thing is not making the cut for moving across the country.

This. The Ram50 will be running over budget in '26 after that I might get stupid.

Sales post https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/cars-sale/2003-saab-9-5-mine-2500/277747/page1/ I would like this thing gone quickly so I don't have to move it
I believe the front seal or oil pump o-ring is the source of the oil leak that's been driving me crazy. Parts ordered. If I can fix the oil leak and don't get any bites on the Saab I'll end up dragging it down to Savannah in a week and hiding it in a storage unit until I start my new job at the end of the month.
That sounds like a good possibility, not too bad of a job. You'll need a giant size snap ring pliers if you don't have one already.

Yeah I have a variety of large snap ring pliers. Is access pretty decent through the wheel well with the passenger tire off?
Yeah from what I remember there's a splash shield that comes off and the pulley is right in front of you. Only other thing really is dealing with the belt and tensioner. But you've already done that.
The front main seal was definitely leaking. The seal itself was halfway out of the front cover and the oil pump o-ring had the malleability of dried concrete. I replaced both of those and then the serpentine belt immediately threw itself after first start. The tensioner was knocking weird and then the belt shredded. I swapped the tensioner with a used spare I had in a bin and I'm going to grab a new belt from FLAPS today. This thing needs to be buttoned up and reliable for the next 8 weeks otherwise the truck is going to have to go on daily duty in Georgia.
Advance Auto had a belt in stock for $54 and I had 5 battery cores to cash in so I only had to pay like $6 with tax but damn $54 for a serpentine belt. That's why I normally shop online rather at a brick and mortar auto parts store. Also heck Saab for giving less than a belts width of clearance between the frame rail and the engine accessories. It appears to be in a fixed condition now. I think I'm going to actually replace the oil cooler lines tonight so I left the front tire off for now. I have an absolute mountain of E36 M3 to get done this week before this thing goes down to Georgia.
