Did some ecu repinning that did not go as planned.
Did some updating, thanks duster for swapping me springs!
Got that drag car stance.
Full 4x4 status. Letting them settle and time to align
got my crank back, dude polished it/made sure journals are round, hot tanked it, and balanced it with the clutch and flywheel.
Got hyper tonight and checked bearing clearances and they were right in the middle, and installed the crank.
So long story short, new oil pump and pickup needed some heavy massaging to make them work, and had a torn rear main out of the box.
The oil pump had huge burs, and pickup needed some massaging to fit right.
Donebrokeit said:I was wondering about the oil pump, looked a bit ragged out.
When are you starting it up?
I was very very unhappy with my new oil pump, I don't know think it would have lasted long if I didn't clean it up.
No set date, had to order some more small parts and clutch disk. Need to finish motor up, swap wiring harnesses and reassemble, build turbo feed and return lines, build intake.
Spent the first half of my day mowing, washing cars and fixed the ac on white trash, iris and focus. All 3 had small leaks.
White trash is going to alignment shop tonight, first time I have gotten a car aligned on a machine for the first time in probably 4 years.
Oil pump is timed and on, along with timing belt.
Took some time for CAD since some heat sheilds are long gone.
All finished up, a bit bigger than stock to try to keep some heat out of the intake.
Had to stop for a kitty break.

Sell it and the good running efi car as a pair once I steal the parts I need. Still the plan, but you know how that goes.
I'm not sure if I'm more impressed that that mower has the torque to pull the car, or that it was able to find enough traction.

The old Sears suburbans have a high and low range, wheels are loaded with 75lb wheel weights on both sides
New ultrasonic could ultrasonic my old ultrasonic.
Tons of running today, mowed, did some teaching, and running for small parts.
Started out the afternoon with a f-650 that doesn't charge.... then started charging again.
Moved onto turning fly wheel.
Took almost nothing off to get it good.
Then we prelubed the motor after putting on a good filter, making a ps tightener bracket, thermostat, and more odds and ends on.
Garden sprayer filled with oil is the best thing we have found for this. Works super good.
Nice!
And you made my day with your charger! I chuckle at the sight of it and yet again vow to make one someday.

It's basically just a motor attached to a truck alternator with an internal governor, right?

This is correct. Works like a dream.
