Well I changed the fuel filter, added some fresh 91 oct. and fired it up. Motor ran great and then. . . . . .

Why do I smell gas?

This is not my picture - mine would be much more rusty. The fitting at the top of the picture gave me quite a fight. It broke coming off, so I fixed it but now I have two pinhole leaks on the line that comes out of the tank (the one with the 90 degree quick disconnect in the picture).

Any GRM way of fixing this?

I was going to take it out and have a local radiator shop look at putting a new steel line into it (they work on fuel tanks and industrial rads).

Well I got the fuel pump cap fixed at the local rad shop. Replaced all 3 of the lines with nice fresh new ones.

The supply line from the pump is leaking, but I picked up the right parts to repair it today.

Well that didn't work. Not enough of the nylon line left to get a good hold of.

Out comes the tank. This should be fun, especially since it hit -23C last night.

Work to remove the tank has begun. Downside to AWD cars - rear subframe and the entire rear drive assembly has to come out!

Well after avoiding work in the garage for quite some time due to the cold, I got back at it tonight.

It really sucks that to fix a damn fuel line, I have to pull the entire rear subframe.

Next up - out comes the tank.

Well I got a full day in the garage wrenching yesterday. Fuel tank in and rear subframe mostly back in!

Pulling a Subaru rear subframe doused in Ontario salt must be brutal. It's bad enough here.

Fenders are long gone unfortunately.

Project car idling

Didn't take any pictures, but today I fixed the parking lights, adjusted the parking brake and cleaned up the interior.

All ready to go for the safety inspection next week.

I have to figure out what's wrong with the AC. Not working - damn!

Outside - washed and cleaned up. Ready for safety certification and sale!

When was the last time you saw an 11 year-old Subaru, in salt country with a rear 1/4 panel this clean???
