And a build thread on the '70 Camaro Z06 project would be welcome too.

I'm glad so many people found the forum through the R63. It's a great place and I can say without hesitation that we would be interested in seeing your Z06/Camaro mashup.
Thanks for reading.

I (like several others) found this site through this thread, and I found this thread from a link in the comments on Jalopnik. Like others, I find your laid-back approach very inspiring. I have an idea for another project: something with a flathead, be it a Ford V8 or a Chrysler or Ford inline-six. Basically go from overly complicated to overly simple. I have a 1950 Ford in my garage that's been sitting there for over a year without much progress, and you've motivated me to actually try and do something on it. Just wanted to say thanks for the ride, and if you're ever in the Tulsa area the beer's on me.

The next project is quite a bit different. If all goes to plan I should dig in the end of August.
I'm glad you found the thread. I have a good friend who has family up near Tulsa, and it seems like there is a lot of old iron sitting behind barns in Oklahoma.

I made the Bentley link clickable because it's too cool not to share. The wood grain panels sold me.

My thoughts exactly. I had never heard of them. Looks like they are in Wisconsin, but had a facility in NV at one time. Only thing I really saw looks they do spider conversions on high end sports cars, Lambo, Ford Gt.

Give me a few months, maybe a year, I'm pretty sure there will be an S60R in my driveway. Has to be silver and has to have the 6 speed auto, so 2006+. (I'm an American and approaching old-fart status, plus the Volvo engineers spent a lot of time making the automatic perfect, so I should honor them) There was a V70R at the last rallycross I competed in and it looked really slick, and I'm happy that it still has the ammo pouches in the seat cushions, but the V70 is too long to fit in my garage...

Come back out to the RallyCross National Championship maybe as soon as next year, you might see it run. Or at least you might see it tow one of my other cars

But catching up on this thread makes me think, you know, I really WOULD rather have a W8 Passat...

I was stunned that Doug could mention the headbolt issue in the written summary, but not link to this thread!

I'm glad he got ahold of one. We were trying to set up a time to have him drive mine but our schedules didn't cross.

Edit: I don't have the bandwidth to actually watch the video right now but I did check the description and he did link to the thread. So......hello to anyone who follows that link and makes it all the way to the end of the thread! Welcome to GRM. Look around, there are some fun projects on here that are way more interesting than the R63.

I think he had the link to this thread in the Youtube video, and he definitely references this thread in the video. I read the article on Autotrader, and that mentioned the headbolt issue, but not this thread. Glad to see mazdadeuce getting some more kudos foe his hard work!

Yep, the link is in the youtube description. I am pretty confident that the video gets more hits than is blog.

I had no idea that these things were so rare!

After reading hundreds of build threads with no driving at the end, the part I'm most proud of is that people can read from the beginning and have a sense of closure. Feels good.

Finally stole some wifi and watched Doug talk about the car. I was excited that he seemed so excited, but then I remembered that he's pretty much always like that. He did seem to enjoy it though. I'm just hoping that all of the viewers focus on the $50,000 value at the end. Mine isn't the cleanest example out there, but the headbolts are new.

You'll need to log in to post.
