I think it's a seal issue inside them. I'm not sure anyone knows for sure. I'll check them over and think on it.

That happens a lot. I suspect there's some shared ownership. It's usually near the end of the cycle, but it gives the R&T article a nice little boost to a totally different demographic.
True, I see R&T article links there all the time, but usually just car reviews and such. To see a link to our little world on such a site is still a bit surprising.
You never know when weird skills like surgical draping will come in handy.
Dirty piston.
Clean piston. These are pretty cool.
In other news, Mrs. Deuce said that if I don't order parts then she'll do it for me. I pointed out that she didn't know what I needed. She pointed out that I'll be very disappointed when the box comes.

What a woman!
If Mrs Deuce is reading this, I bet the parts are listed in this thread....
You guys have no idea. When I was discussing things with MB USA earlier she said "berk it, call Weistec and have them build you an 800hp motor and we'll roll up to the dealer and do a massive four wheel burnout with our middle fingers out the sunroof!"
I managed to talk her down. She's feisty.
In reply to mazdeuce:
Ohhh come on that would've been bitchin' to see! Especially if you got the whole damn thing on video! You really should've let her talk you into it haha. I'm a newbie here and I read this whole thing from stem to stern. Wishing you the best in your adventure mazdeuce.

I'm glad you're enjoying the thread and the saga that is this stupid van.
It appears that there are a bunch of people new to GRM because of the recent articles on my stupidity. I encourage you to stay and look around. This is far from being the coolest thing here. It's not even the coolest thing I've done here. Look at the Jalpa and the Miata/Volvo mashup and pretty much anything Hungsry Bill drags home (or across the ocean). We like cars. Fast cars, slow cars, old cars, new cars, broken cars, show cars, race cars. So look around and then join in. Tell us a story.

Whereever did you learn to perform surgical draping? It looks pretty useful for all the painting tasks I might want to do but are too lazy to dismantle things for.

I'm really hoping the answer does not include a legitimate medical school.
Although most painters call it "masking"
Both of my parents were veterinarians. My mom's practice was in one end of our house. A couple times a week we would eat dinner and then my parents would do surgery while we stood around and talked about our day at school. I was also drafted when extra hands were needed. Normal small family business stuff, but with blood and stitches.
I did, just today, figure out that I can use the transfer paper that I use when I cut vinyl as a huuuuge single piece of masking tape. It worked well. Add shop towels to the sticky edges and there you go. Nothing falling down the many passages in the head.
In reply to Keith Tanner:
Yes, most people would call it masking, but we all bring our own background to the table.

Well I have an idea to build a B-Body Cadillac with a 24 Valve Cummins lol.....

Well then. You should do it and post it

That's the plan!
