A slight breach of etiquette jumping to the triple dog dare.....
Ah damn it lol. I'll be totally honest with ya.. I'm not the most etiquettetical guy you'll meet here so I'll reel back a bit and just double dog dare ya haha. Guess I had a bit o an itchy trigger finger eh.
I think a later EFI Bitrouble could be reliable enough for OneLap without a metric-berkeley-ton of effort or cost.

I dare you
If you want your unreliable twin-turbo to be even more rare, find one of the Callaway GTV6's. They at least have an aftermarket to mostly track-prep the chassis but it would definitely NOT be easy.
If you want unreliable, how about Ralph Nader's favorite, the Corvair? I do like the idea of that BiTurbo, but how about with an AMG engine swap or drop in an Audi drive train with Quattro? The one thing I remember about my buddy with the Testa Rossa was how crazy expensive parts were for it. $500 for a distributor cap, couple grand for the 12 plugs and new plug wires and they had to be changed out every 5 or 10k miles. That service requires dropping the engine, which you are a pro at already, because you couldn't reach the innermost plugs with the engine in place. I think he had to leave a $5 grand retainer with the mechanic for them to start this service.
Just catching up on this thread after a few weeks of being too busy to.
Mazdadeuce, words fail me, and that almost never happens. I simply don't have sufficient adjectives in my verbal arsenal to adequately express my admiration and awe at what you have accomplished here. Major kudos to Mrs. Deuce for serving as your enabler. What a woman!!
To quote a line from one of my favorite movies (Apollo 13) that seems appropriate here:
"And you sir, are a steely-eyed missile man!!"
Another route on a new project...how about a B6 Audi S4 that's ready to grenade itself? Preferably with a manual trans. Maybe even an Avant? Just think of all the engine out, timing chain goodness...

Haha aren't those always ready to grenade themselves?

Thanks. My wife really is the amazing one, I just play with cars. If I can get this AC sorted I'll have a very relaxed summer.
Today was going to be an inside day. Clean all the things. Make Mrs. Duece happy. But wait! What's that! The new code reader came! Off to the Grosh!
Just a couple minutes. I swear.

It looks like I can read down to the individual airbag level. There's tons of stuff.
The new code reader says I have a 9006 which is a short in the compressor. Is it really a short in the compressor? That's harder to tell. The only electrical part is the valve that regulates coolant flow through the compressor. I'm thinking that means that it somehow went bad on the shelf. Not sure how that happens, but maybe it was on it's last legs? Or maybe it's something else? The only thing I can find wrong in the whole system is the aux battery is sitting at about 11v. I can't see how that would be a concern, but I plugged in the trickle charger and we'll see if it tops up the whole system or just the big battery.
