Just started hearing a knock in my 84 Oldsmobile Toronado and have to rip out that V8 again and do more work to her, while I have her out I was gonna test the waters so to speak on trying to convert this to rwd does anybody have any knowledge on the matter as cool as it is now I think it'd be way cooler rwd

I have never seen it done, but I think it is an excellent idea. Could be done with a live axle like a NASCAR, or move the FWD package into the rear complete with engine.

Didn't Leno do one with a crate 572 or Corvette C5 drivetrain?

Edit: found it.

Thanks I'll give that a look and keep it in mind as I look to find something, I've seen something similar done to a olds cutlass but they made it awd with a Ford Explorer chassis since the wheelbase is the same just too optimistic for what I could do at the moment

I did see what Jay did but with the year difference, I would figure there would be dimension issues when it came to how much room I'd actually have, thanks for the link though I'll give it a check some material on the issue is better than non

Just looking at your engine bay photo it seems you would just need to make the tunnel larger and put a rwd gearbox and diff in. Or am I oversimplifying?
