I have a small utility trailer that I use for work a lot. It's a junker that I got for free.
It hasn't had fenders for as long as I've owned it but SC, and I assume other states require them. I've never been stopped but I'm going to be towing this trailer to Delaware to pick up a fiberglass hood for the Abomination. In interest of avoiding all contact with the oppressive regime, adding fenders.
Before.
I have the trailer sitting pretty high on the axle, so the tires don't rub anything hanging over the deck. The door panels frequently are larger than the deck.
That made mounting fenders a challenge. I didn't want the fenders sticking above the deck. The tires are also spaced out from the deck a little over 3 inches so mounting them to the deck was out without building mounts. Everything I fabbed up looked like crap.
Step two was this.
The fender is actually mounted to the axle, using a mount I built out of some scrap.
I didn't want the sheet metal fender to fatigue and crack, so I ran a piece of all thread under the fender and welded it in place. Then the all thread bolts to the mounts.
I didn't take a lot of pictures today, I'll try to shoot some more when I build the other side tomorrow.
