I mean long tubes, cam and rod mod intake would be my path on a manual car. Those blower cars can be pretty gnarly with 3 pedals.

Initial estimate from body shop $3700, does not include suspension repairs or replacement tire. SSHEILA is on her way to the mechanical repair area for suspension inspection and estimate. Fortunately all the body damage is repair / refinish, so not hamstrung by NLA parts.

Two suspension links, plus inner and outer tie rod ends, and she should be out of mechanical jail tomorrow. So I bought her some jewelry to apologize for getting her crashed. Collision shop said they'd install since the front fascia will be off anyway.

the LS3 badge replaces SS on fascia, and the smaller lion badge replaces bowtie on trunk. I'll have them remove the stick-on SS badge from the trunk as well.

If you're home Monday I'll get you your key chain.  I've got a morning meeting in Wixom but can swing by afterwards.

If I were to rebadge I'd go the HSV Senator route.

I just don't know why you can't be proud of the Malibu you bought?

I always thought these cars looked more like a fat Chevy Cruze than a Malibu, especially when you compare the tail lights.

She's not fat, she's big-boned!

and she's still in repair shop purgatory, because the LCA for cars with MR suspension are NLA from GM. So while it's certainly not my responsibility to find the parts, that's what I've been doing. I ordered a JY part via eBay, and I found a specialty aftermarket source for the MR LCA. Naturally they have stiffer bushings so are only sold in pairs. And, they're on a boat somewhere, due to arrive at the distributor mid-late Aug. I really am thinking about SSelling this car and buying an M3, which I think is the only other way in recent history to get a rowdy 3-pedal RWD sedan. :-(

It's crazy that parts for a 52 year old car are easier to get than parts for a 7 year old car. I'm looking, believe me I'm looking.

May I ask, is a sedan still a requirement? If you're going to sell the SS, I think c6 vettes can be had for reasonable money these days. Would certainly be rowdy and can obv be had with 3 pedals

Front right lower control arm for 2015-2017 SS Sedan. It's not the same as 2014 SS or any year Caprice PPV because those vehicles don't have MR ride height sensor.

Sedan is definitely a requirement, unless it's a 71-72 el Camino.

Maybe a dumb question but can your ride height sensor be retrofitted to a new control arm that doesn't have it??

sure, and that's what i'd do if it was just me fixing my car in my garage. but this is Allstate fixing my car and providing a lifetime guarantee on the repairs. now that i've been subject to this cluster, i'm (maybe) going to design a retrofit sensor mount for the non-MR control arms. Will be a small target market, LOL.

I'll be setting my VPN to Queensland for maximum Holden results later tonight. GM surely put the spicy MR shocks on an HSV.

I had a 4 door M3 sedan with a manual. It was the e90 era so V8. All the bolt ons. It was totally ridiculous. And I loved it!
