We consulted with our top secret suspension swami and hammered down a plan. Just ordered springs for all around. They're chrome so they have to make us faster.

Our Suspension Swami suggested we get more camber. We could overnight JDM or redneck engineer it. We spent the morning cutting and drilling. My SWAG says 3-4 degrees of camber. Breaking for lunch then we'll finish it up.

The chrome was shiny on the outside of the springs but kinda matte on the inside. I'll try and get pictures after lunch.

You are a wonderful liar. I think this picture shows the shiny/matte finish.

We were worn out from this morning but we pushed through to at least get all three bolt holes in place. Now it's nap time.

8 weeks to go. Got our purple crack mounted.

When I was getting the strut a couple of weeks ago a gentleman asked if he could borrow my 10mm wrench. Talked with him for a bit and turns out he owns a used tire shop not far from me. Went there and I think I have a new tire man. Much better than the meth heads I used before. They would give me a deal but only if it was cash and I didn't tell their boss. This guy did them for the same amount in cash but he's the boss so my morals feel better.

Ate lunch with Lil Stampie and had some time to waste before nap time in the school pickup line. We needed some copper for an experiment so went trash scrounging near his school. Looked like today was trash pickup day so last night would have been better but found this.  Hope to get the rest of the materials on the way home from school so maybe an update this evening.

Here's our setup. Two electrodes of free copper in a mason jar of salt water. Used the battery charger on 2 amps and it went a lot quicker than I thought.

We ran it for about 15 minutes. Now we're filtering it off.  Forgot to say why we're making this. We got a bunch of free paint off CL. Great except it's white and apparently some people and here want more color. We're going to use this to tint the white paint. This first reaction will make brown.  I'm going to try making a blue/green later but it involves chemicals I don't want Lil Stampie around.

Naw just coming up with solutions to problems. I do have to give my dad credit here.  Some 35 years ago he was a science teacher in a local middle school. I wanted a different science fair project and he showed me how to separate water into hydrogen and oxygen using this method.  It was fun to light off the hydrogen that I caught in a test tube.  Funny what sticks in your mind as a childhood memory.  I am digging how the color is turning out. I'm really really hoping to get a cool color like this.

There are advantages to being a single dad. Didn't hear a cross word whatsoever about drying it out in the toaster oven.

Once dried that'll be powdered copper oxide.  I can then mix it into my white paint to colorize it.

This truly is some next level E36 M3.  If this turns out anything like dsom orange it'll be awesome.  That color looks close.

So when copper "rusts" it turns blue/green. You say this orange stuff is copper oxide. Is part of this going to be your blue/green tint?

I’d like to see the salt water solution in the budget for $.03 and the copper wire.

This is Copper (I) oxide Cu2O so it should be stable. I'm liking this so far so I may keep it.   The blue/green tint would be me making copper suffate or copper nitrate crystals. That's a little more involved and dangerous although I already have the chemicals thanks to my local Ace Hardware.

But sir the salt doesn't stay in the Cu2O.  Plus at $20 for a 5 gallon bucket I calculated the salt cost to 1.5 cents.
