So I recently had a valve spring break on my 1988 Pontiac Fiero Formula. Im trying to figure out what the best valve springs are to replace them. Ive looked at the Comp cams 980-12 springs, but I dont know if I can run them with a non stock cam. Any advice would be helpful in pointing me in the right direction.

If your cam is stock there's no reason to run stiffer springs if those Comp Cam springs are indeed stiffer.

A set of OEM replacement springs should do you fine.

IF the spring that broke is OEM from when the car was new then miles and age just got to it.
