Got the cylinder head off. Looked pretty good for near 300k miles!
I was hoping the head would clean up at the machine shop. I had decided to use the rwd head so I could retain the original intake manifold. The fwd engines have a different bolt pattern on the intake side. The throttle body also points straight down instead of straight up like the rwd manifold. This allowed me to keep all the stock electronics for the time being.
I happen to come across a NOS RWD head on eBay and bought it just in case the original head was no good. Plus I really wanted the box!!!
