Where did you find the information? From what I can find the only option is getting a Torsen or aftermarket one made for an Auto TT Supra. It shows it as being an 8.5" diff instead of the 8" that comes in most trucks.

The Mt TT supra has the 8.5"(220mm) ring. The SC (which is what I am looking for) and I think your LS should run a 200mm diff which is the same as the v6 trucks of the same Era. This is all Internet hearsay so take it with a grain of salt. However, I have read in a few different places that bit of info so yeah... I don't know. I will do some measuring if I get that SC.
This thread specifies the 200mm diff for both SC and LS.

A spool might be a cheap way to test my theory.

Like welding but removable.
Edit: I think that was for the older 8".
Here is a powertrax that should work. Anything that fits a Tacoma 4x4 should work.

This is the answer I've been searching for The truck differential doesn't work.
Well crap. Anyway, I have a LS400 diff if you want a spare. I bought a 92 that I am ripping the motor out of for something else.
May I recommend swapping in a Ford 8.8"? It isn't easy by any means but people have done it on many platforms.
