Some coworkers and I bought this car to take rallycrossing a few years ago. We did a couple events over the course of 2 years, but we've each had other things take priority. It has a few nagging issues that keep it from being street legal which has been a source of trouble for us. The events we have taken it to it has performed very well (fastest 2wd car every time, except for our second event when a maf/electrical issue sent us home early)
Its stock except for A) removed front swaybar (will include) and B) the wheels/tires
It will come with a ton of spare parts/related parts, including a set of 17x7.5 wheels with almost-dead tires.
Good:
- Runs strong
- 6 speed, with a diff
- Very respectable performer at rallyx events
- All the bushings in the front end are relatively new
- Shocks & mounts are relatively new
- Just built a new exhaust
- You can drive it as is, you can win events as is
Bad:
- Currently does not have a front cat (has a ebay header instead), which results in check engine light/does not pass emissions. Have a new one to install, but it will need some welding work. We were hesitant to go this route because of the history of failures on this motor from ingesting the pre-cat. It does have a new secondary cat.
- Doesn't pass EVAP self-check (emissions readiness). Suspect one of the valves has a small leak. It doesn't affect performance, again just whether or not it passes emissions.
- Small power steering leak
- Paint/body is not great
- Its a 16 year old dirty nissan
