"Motors [sic] locked up," according to seller (and based on the drag strip photo, that's not hard to believe. As I recall, the 2.5 GTs were not all that common. Could be a good Challenge project if you've got a spare Subie engine hanging around..

I've been led to believe you get Impreza WRX STi performance but in a Legacy body.

I figured all of that generation of Legacy GT had blown up by 2015. They all did it. Those are the ones that had the little screens on the turbo oil lines that liked to clog up and cause oil starvation issues. That said, that's arguably the prettiest car Subaru has ever built, and worth plopping a refreshed EJ25 in there.

These are really fun with a bigger turbo and a manual trans. Drove one for a few years.

rumor has it they make a hell of a noise when they blow up at 25 psi of boost...

Nah, even the later Spec B was down 50hp to the STi and had 1" narrower wheels and tires.

I've always thought so, too. Total styling fluke for Subaru.

It's more like Forester XT level performance in a Legacy body.

The two major differences between the LGT (EJ255) and STi (EJ257) are the larger turbo in the STi, and single AVCS in the 255 vs dual AVCS in the 257.

A pair of B25 heads, forged internals, 65 lb/min turbo and injectors (with supporting kids and tune) can make up to 400 whp, Which is crazy fun in these cars.
