I've been looking at these, and price-wise, they seem to go for 2002 figures, which I don't get. You've got the first iteration of arguably the prettiest body BMW ever made, with a lot of vintage BMW goodness attached. Sure, it won't be as fast as a 3.0, but for 1/4 the price, that's okay. I saw a decent one for about $20k a few weeks ago and a runner is on sale in Reno for $8500 just now:

Please edumacate me.
The 2002 has so much more support. The 2000 shares the engine and trans and some other bits but there are a lot of parts that are hard to find. I've never driven the 2000cs, but from I read, the driving dynamics are better on the 2002. Honestly, these cars are a bit over built, but, at the same time, love to rust and are expensive to restore. I know a lot of restoration guys that won't touch the 2002, nor the 2000/3.0.
