If it's as clean as it appears and has no major problems, that seems like money well spent. Glad it's cross-country from me!

Yeah, after posting it last night I did some digging and found it listed a few other places. Including several times on ebay, last listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Chalon-914-/231427079802
LOL, the Ebay ad has the same 4 pictures and not much more info than the CL ad. I figure the person trying to sell it has no idea that their poor ad writing skills are part of the problem.
He probably doesn't realize that the chalon kit, along with it being a 1.8 and carbs vs. FI is hurting the price.
Silly ebay ad said: Car was in storage 15 years, just had the fuel system replaced.New carb and runners, runs good.Has factory paperwork and tag.Has original Chalon paint.Rare find a slant nose 914.a blast to drive. No rust that i can see.
No rust that he can see? I can see what looks like rust in the pictures near the tail lights. I am surprised he got someone to bid it up to $5000. I bet it is not the original engine either, I don't think they brought out the 1.8 until 1973, but could be wrong.
