Common 914 mess, but its cheap so could easily be parted for more.
Offer half the asking price and put the larger airhead in an FV racer (seen elsewhere in this thread). Or offer $500 for the engine-tranny, seller keeps the rest.
The biggest VW Bug was 1600cc, these started at 1700.
