It's time for the American Dream Duster Roads to move on to a new promoter. I've had Duster Roads since 2012. He's powered by the mighty 225 Slant-6 "Leaning Tower of Power" that is the stuff of legends. I'd had a great time owning the American Dream but now it is time for him to move on to a new ring. It has been stored indoors the whole time I've owned it.
I bought this car back when I was working at AutoTrader Classics and drove it around to car shows like so:

We also dressed it up for a Christmas social media post:

Features:
- 1978 Volare intake with 2-bbl Carter carburetor (shockingly peppy)
- Automatic transmission
- Manual brakes (disc/drum)
- Power steering (typical Chrysler overboosted but makes driving in town a breeze
- Big bolt pattern wheels
- 15" Rally wheels
- Bench seat (driver side is worn)
- Factory A/C (swapped to R134a but never did the seals so it leaks out the more you use it).
- Hybrid ignition system using the stock distributor, GM 4-pin HEI module, and a Ford coil. Runs great and is a common swap.
- New gas tank and fuel pump.
- Solid, solid, solid car.
Perfect for driving as-is or as the basis for a V8 swap. The manual brakes and big bolt pattern wheels are an excellent start for a performance build.
Car was painted by the previous owner (it was Bundy Brown before). Engine is not original but was replaced.
The good:
- Slant-6 runs like a champ.
- Solid car with barely any rust spots.
- Straight body.
- Solid trunk.
- 3-point seat belts up front (the main reason I picked it)
- New gas tank (old one got rusty, easier to swap it out than clean it)
- Vinyl top replaced before I got it
The bad:
- Needs tires, the ones on it are aged out. Fine for around town, but I wouldn't hit a long highway trip with them.
- A/C needs updated seals if you want to use it with R-134a.
- Front driver carpet has a hole in it.
- Needs front seat upholstery (or just a seat cover, your call)
- Speedometer cable keeps coming unhooked at the dash (stupid repro piece with lousy connections)
American Collectors has it insured for $13,300 which is my non GRMer price. If someone on here wants it I'll take it down to $12,000. I know, the price seems high to me too, but having looked at comparable vehicles for months now I also can't believe how much it is worth. So it is what it is.
