Coming up at the VOA auction in Columbus, Oh. The last SA RX7 that I saw sell there went for $4500.

Wow, that thing is pristine. It's beautiful. 46k miles original claimed. Hmm. I might have to make the trip. Are you going?
You do not have to be a dealer at these auctions, it's charity donated cars and open to the general public.

I'll be out of town this weekend so I won't make it. The last one they had earlier in the year was rustier and barely ran and still went for $4500, I'm wondering what this will sell for if it is as clean as it looks.
If I had some more garage space I would be mighty tempted by that custom cruiser. Good thing I am out of town this weekend.
Please keep us updated on the results of this. Cheap flights had me half tempted to fly out and bid but the logistics of getting it home started to get complicated quickly. Especially not knowing if it runs or not.

I'll probably be there in the morning, wearing a 24 Hours of Lemons shirt, with a friend of mine. Drop me an email (my user name at gmail dot corn). It would be nice to meet you at last!
The RX7 wasn't quite as nice as the photos let on; it was very very nice, but I'm not sure that was factory paint and it had some flaws here and there in the paint and what might have been bondo in one front fender at the tip. There was some checking / crazing in the paint on that fender. Since I was going for it for resale if it went cheap enough, that put a big dent in my mental value. I set a price limit of "$5000-$6000" in my head. Whenever I buy something at auction I try to have a firm price limit figured out ahead of time but I just couldn't quite get it firmed up. It didn't matter, it went for $6200. Still a good deal, but a good deal for someone else.
The Lark was spectacular! The battery had shorted on the hood so some wires burned up, but otherwise it was in exceptional condition. It was obviously a repaint, but looked great and the interior was very good. The hood would need a bit of body work and a repaint, but other than that and the electrical repair it looked ready to cruise. It went for $4800 which was probably a really great deal. If it had gone across the block after the RX7, I might have bid.
@Greg: The RX7 did start and run. It took two attempts to start but these auction cars sit for a while and being carbureted it can take a knack to get them to start easily after sitting which the auction employees don't really bother with.
@Stampie: It was a horrid mess, much much worse in person than in the pics, and went for ~$650. If I heard him right.
