I had a 1983 6000 STE back in the day. It was a nice car for the time, but the 2.8 liter V6 only put out 130 HP IIRC. This car makes me think an STE with an LS4 drive train would be a neat sleeper, or better still, find a wagon version of this platform.
Edit: I think Andrew and Calvin need to yank the drive train out of that DSM they built and install it in an A-body wagon (preferably a Buick) with wood grain.

Always like the look of those and the smaller Bonneville that came all monochromatic. They looked great in that silver and white.
I wonder if this could be replicated with a V8Archie adapter plate and mounts. Wasn't the FWD A-body an evolution of the Citation front end that got used in the back of a Fiero?
I had a 88 6000 for a bit around the turn of the century. Had the "tec" 4 (sometimes called the "low-Tec") but ran ok for an appliance, was not slow enough o be dangerous, and got 36 MPG on the hwy. Less road noise and more room than econo-boxes that answer to same description. Even with a V8, I will paraphrase Carrol Shelby about one of his own fast cars. "A E36 M3 box, is still a E36 M3 box."

Had an 88 Celebrity with the fuel injected 2.8 V6. I'm sure that was better than the 4 cylinder, but it was still an unnerving experience driving it at 70 on the OK turnpike.
That was nice of him to leave "$6000" on the windshield. That way you know what his bottom dollar is.
