~230,000 miles, TBI 350, LSD, new tires last year, clean MI title

Automatically included: ”Is that a Caprice? Don’t see those around much anymore,” comments from random guys at the gas station.

It’s technically drivable but the brakes are not good. My fault, I didn’t change the pads soon enough so now it needs rotors too.

I’ve used it pretty hard: camping, dirt roads, moving, hauling bikes, kids, dogs, firewood, and I drove it through a winter to save the Neon. So it’s definitely not pristine but it’s not far from solid driver status.

Other issues I can think of: the AC is leaking, it stopped holding a charge last summer and the blower motor is dying a slow noisy death. Exhaust leak(s?) The front passenger window is the only one that goes up and down under its own power. Never did get around to dealing with the transmission fluid drip. The washer fluid leaks if filled past a certain point. The interior is decent with the exception of the shredded driver seat. Rust? Yes, definitely in the rear bumper/lower fender area.

GRM price: $1,000ish. No idea of the actual value but that’s what I paid for it.

Officially open to trades. Interesting older things, Ford Escort things, small convertibles, or a decent beater minivan could have a place in the fleet.

Feel free to message me with questions and if a GRMer does want this old car I’ll hold it until it works to set up a real life transaction.

Hmm...

You might be disappointed... I stopped trying to keep it “nice” about halfway into the first camping trip.

(It was a lot more fun that way)

Anyone interested before I start thinking about putting it up for sale locally?

The rear view mirror came off in my hand while I was cleaning the interior out. I think that was a sign  it’s time for this car to move on.

Here’s one of my favorite pictures:

More pics will have to wait until I break out the power washer... it’s pollen season.

Any bites?

If I have time one of these coming weekends I’m going to do the brakes, replace the blower motor, and attempt to make all the power windows work.

Bump.

I installed the new blower motor.

Still needs brakes to be road trip worthy. It’s worth mentioning that front pads and rotors are in a box in a car. All I lack is time. At $1k a GRMer could come use our shop in Holly to do the brakes and drive it home.

Do eet, complete front brakes take a 3/8 allen socket, a c clamp, a flat screwdriver, a hammer, some grease, and a pair of channel locks.  I've done them in parking lots before.

Trying to work out why I'm so excited about the idea of owning another B-body wagon when the one I just sold hasn't actually left the property yet. Maybe it's because this one runs already.

It runs, isn't really a project, and can tow.  You're ditching a project wagon and lost your tow truck, so it makes sense

This is still here, still available @ $1000 to a GRMer.

We just had a baby, so I won’t be getting any work work done on the wagon for a little while, and I don’t really have time to deal with CL or FB marketplace.

I was hoping I would get it fixed up and sold before baby came, but I got distracted playing with the Neon and my brothers’s newly  acquired Miata.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go catch a nap while the wee one sleeps ;)

So I listed it on FB marketplace, just to see if anything would come of it. Local CL is dead, apparently, except for scammers who want $25 for a random “vehicle history report.” They’re getting clever.

Sheesh... I forgot how many people try to open a dialogue with  “What’s the lowest you’ll take”

Are we sure no one here wants it?

I put my B-I-Laws blown motor Ford Contour crap sedan on CList to help get it off my F -I-Laws driveway.

The money wasn't going into my pocket so I started high and quickly moved the price down to make it go away.

When I started at $600 everyone asked if I'll take $300 but nobody serious showed up.  Final listing said $300 with everyone asking if I'll take $150.  Finally a guy shows up with a 2-wheel trailer and he gets it.

I was kinda hoping the guy who drove up to check it out in a minty Impala SS would buy it. But it’s still here.

I love the vista cruiser like roof. Some views of those wagons look good. But I just cant get over the bubble butt! My dad had a early vista cruiser for a long weekend test ride when I was a kid. due to the roof window over the back seat, I wanted that one bad. But the wagon he got did at least have the rear facing 3'rd seat; that wasn't as cool, but it was still fun for a kid. He was a wagon guy (I still am) - went from a 63 Fairlane (289), to a 68 full size ford (unsure of engine) to a 72 Dodge (383) to a 76 Dodge Van (318) I wish I still had any of those.

Anyway, good luck with the sale. I hear everyone saying how much the price of cars has been driven up. Have patience.

Lol. If I hadn’t already decided to sell mine I probably would have picked up Indy’s when I saw it was for sale.
