I posted this on the Enablers Unanimous FB page this weekend but figured a formal sales post here might get more attention. I'm moving to Savannah, GA for a job later this month and moving 4 cars doesn't make logistical sense. I'm looking for $2500 for the car and all of the parts I've acquired for it. Would be a great gastropod Challenge entry or do some creative challenge accounting, part it out and stick the torquey turbo drivetrain in some monstrosity. Looking for quick sale, located in Janesville, WI.
The car is a 2003 Saab 9-5 Linear that I pulled out of a barn 3 summers ago and spent two slow years putting it back together after discovering it had two bent rods and no bearings. Car has 1587xx miles on it now. Car is a Linear trim but has been upgraded to an Aero turbo and tune. Build thread https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/polishing-a-piece-of-swedish-silver-saab-9-5/196180/page1/
- Rebuilt engine with Wossner forged pistons and B234 connecting rods
- New front ball joints
- New Subframe bushings
- M-pact Cobalt SS uprated clutch. It's a organic/metallic hybrid that is very light and grabs a little high in the pedal throw.
- 2007 Aero turbo upgrade. TD04hl-15t with King Cobra intake
- Stage "0.5" Tune with Myrtilos custom open bin for live tuning
- K&N filter added by previous owner
- Heated seats that work better than any other car I've ever owned let alone ridden in.
- Brand new DIC w/spare ignition cassette as well
- New passenger side axle
- New Hankook all-seasons put on July of '22 ~1500 miles on them
- Pulls hard, hits about 18psi if I remember right from the logs. Will do 35mpg on the freeway.
Cons
- AC doesn't work. I think the condensor needs replaced.
- Has a mystery oil leak from the passenger side of motor that I haven't had time to figure out
- Needs rotors. Fronts are pretty heavily grooved. I was focused on getting back on the street last summer and shaken down
- ABS/TC lights on and ABS was not functional this winter. Likely needs an ABS module.
- A little shaky at idle sometimes. Blown motor mounts were filled with polyurethane construction adhesive
- Missing steering column plastic trim. I have pieces just never installed
- Parking brake needs adjusted
- Has horrible faded tint on back glass and rear windows
- Security system fault, needs fixed with a Tech2 hasn't been a problem for me
- a couple broken tabs on interior bit around the center console
- Cat was clogged and then unclogged in a very hammer and chisel sorta way
- Struts are probably on their last legs
I have lots and lots of spares for this car. Several valve covers, complete cylinder head, intake manifold, headers, spare block, a crank that could use a .020" cut, undersized bearings, B234i high lift cams, accessories. Spare gaskets, oil cooler lines, fuel filter, Ignition coil pack. Probably lots more I'm forgetting, I have two 27 gallon home depot totes full of Saab stuff.
