[SOLD] $2500

I have a 205k mile black 2007 civic SI sedan (about 130k on the engine I swapped from LKQ due to complications from rally cross ~40k ago). It has the clear coat fade all over. It has the Detroit rust bad in the rockers (and starting to spread beyond) and some sweet EBay projectors.

It also runs like a top. Has TSX brakes and matching MC, and less than 20k on an HFP-killer suspension, tie rods, and  various bushings done over Covid. I also have 17x8 tire rack wheels on it. I'm a mechanical engineer and every bolt was torqued likes it's going up in space.

it has a 1320 header, 49-state legal MagnaFlow hi flow cat (no check engine, no tricks either), and HFP muffler. I will miss the sound of VTEC, but it's time for RWD for me.

I've finally given up on my dreams of tracking it due to the cancer in the rockers. Is this car of interest to anyone who wants to learn how to weld? Or anyone with the time and space to part it or swap it onto a clean body? The interior is fine, only real issue is the center dash lights are pretty unreliable. Also has a brand new AC condenser in it.

because of the discrepancy in body and mechanical condition I'm not sure how to price it, but let me know if you're interested. I hope to be replacing it with in a month and will be motivated to get rid of it soon.

pic is from a couple years ago in the rain so you can't see the clear coat fade. I'll get some better (read: uglier) pics up in the next few days

the damn kids keep stealing my H badge, so that's still accurate.

I am interested depending on the price. Where are you located?

some pictures to show the extent of the rust would help people determine their interest and price.

I'll get the interior fully detailed before I sell it. I've never sold a rusty car before, I suppose its worth what someone will pay for it. FB has crazy prices of course, between the crazy people and the crazy market.

Unfortunately,  on a DD, the rust will affect price more than the strength of the mechanicals. There are still pretty clean, rust wise, in the DC region.

The highest I could pay for it is $600. I get that that's probably too little for you. But would you have any interest in a running and driving 1996 Buick Roadmaster wagon? The ac works, and it has a brand new battery, and starter.

In reply to Docwemple :

Yup I know, hence my hesitance to price it. I think it might be a body shop or parts special, or just drive it til it falls apart.

this is why I love this site. I'm not interested in a Roadmaster wagon, but the fact that it's a legitimate question is great.

If the rust is mainly cosmetic, that's one thing. But, I'm also sure you've seen Swiss cheese saved. Out of curiosity. Are you above or below $1000

I'd guess $2500-$3000. The engine and trans combo is worth that much.

Yeah definitely thinking high value parts will be the guiding value.  I'm currently looking for it's  replacement, I'm aiming for by the end of the month. I'll start serious conversations as soon as I have something lined up.

i wouldn't price it below $2500 if it was me, just for parts alone.  those transmissions are getting thin on the ground (can't find them in junkyards anymore) because they have the LSD and K20's never go out of popularity.  tough to find good interiors too, particularly for sedans as they seem to get beaten harder than the coupes for carrying stuff.  and that's not even considering your suspension, which is a great one btw (i have the same setup).

best of luck with it!

Funny thing is our lemons team just bought a running 08 Si coupe with a bad bottom end for $1700.

Nice! Well if you want a pretty fresh suspension, a decent brake set up, and spare engine/trans w a good bottom (and top!) end, let me know. It would have to beat the $2k challenge price though.

Thanks! It's going to be a lemons car! It has a crappy aftermarket suspension on it though.
