Good chance you've read the threads I've posted recently about my car and the overheating issues it's having. We've pretty much ruled out every possibility other than the head gasket, and I now have a good explanation as to why the symptoms only happen when the car is really warm/hot. I'm very much leaning toward not fixing it and just getting something else. I didn't realize how much these things are selling for. I searched Autotrader and cars with 250k+ miles and unk history have asking prices of $7k and it only goes up from there. I put an ad on CL at $4k to see if someone would bite...in my mind it'd be a DIY/flipper. Here's the ad. https://atlanta.craigslist.org/wat/cto/d/dallas-2014-toyota-prius-well-kept/7549988327.html I will offer a good price to GRM member, contact me if you're interested. The ad is very long, because CL people are berkeleying morons and I want to be 100% clear on it.
TL:DR the ad...323k miles, head gasket just starting to go. Still 100% drivable around town and short highway. Body, interior, all features, etc...are in outstanding condition for mileage. Everything works, battery likely isn't original as it performs flawlessly. Car-part shows you can get a complete engine AND trans assembly with 100k for about $500.
Car is in NW suburbs of Atlanta.
