‘84 Alfa Spider NMNA Much Want Since 1978

In 1978 I told my Dad I wanted to buy a used BMW 2002.  As an Oldsmobile guy he wasn't keen on finding someone to work on it dismissing my limited but growing mechanical skills.  

My mom saw a beater Alfa Romeo Alfetta and suggested I buy that but big Jim, being 100 % Italian shot that down too.  The travesty of it all.  

I've had a thing for these Alfas and need you to tell me good/bad on Spiders.  The GTV is the one but little sister still has 5-1/2 semesters of college left and that don't happen.

If you want to make a trip to the western slope of Colorado. I looked at a Alfa Romero Graduate. It is red and in great shape. He wants 2500.00 for it. It is just sitting there. This one is rust free. 

The car in the pic is late enough to be Bosch L-Jetronic/Motronic, so making it run is probably pretty simple if it has compression. they have quite an appetite for head gaskets, but otherwise good cars with terrific value potential at this price.
