Bought this last year to serve as a backup car, and possibly use as a Corolla cup car. Corolla cup didn't work out, and this is now an extra, extra car. It's not getting driven, so I need to sell it. Listing here first before I have to deal with marketplace.

Edited for new asking price, $1300... offers welcome.

Underneath the general motors, badging and sheet metal is a Toyota Corolla 1.6 with a three speed automatic, one of the most indestructible cars ever built.

The car originally was owned by an elderly driver, so it has the common scratches and light dents on the passenger side. The paint is in good shape, appears to have been repainted at some point, and rust is minimal. The rust is a palm sized spot on the rocker just in front of the left rear wheel.

The seats show no wear, the plastic parts of the interior are not cracked, although the dashboard is somewhat warped from the sun. The headliner is missing.

It has a complete R 12 AC system, but the low side would not hold a vacuum when I tested it.

Tires are 10 year old Khumos, need replacement. The spare has been replaced, but I'm not sure what the date code is. Everything works as it should, except for the AC. The tires are 175/65-14. Costco and tire rack both have this size, and you can put new tires on it and be in for challenge money.

Here in Florida, it's eligible for a classic plate, so registration will be cheap.

When did the Prizm become a Corolla, or where they always?  First job out the Navy was a car dealership in late 91.  Our loaners were Corsicas, Cavaliers and Prizms.  The Prizms were my favorite to drive, felt pretty peppy for a small car (only cars I had at that point were an 84 Camaro, 77 Grand Prix, and a 79 Lil Red Exress truck).  They were fun.

Prizms were always Corollas.  Geo didn't actually make anything ever, just rebadged Japanese stuff in the GM empire plus the NUMMI cars.  Before a Corolla was a Prizm it was a Chevy Nova.

Yup, my first car was an '88 Chevy Nova.  It was nothing but a rebadged Corolla built at the NUMMI plant.  Carburetor and all... probably one of the last to have one.

As someone who's been autocrossing Miatas, I was surprised how nimble it drives.

"Peppy" is the description I got from the previous owner.

I shared a track day with the 1.8 liter version that was prepped for Lemons (that won IOE recently). It's a great platform.

The first car I ever bought myself was a '91 Prizm. It was a great car and totally drove better than it had any right to. Compared to the 80s American stuff I'd driven previously it was a revelation. Peppy is right.

We all agree on the driving dynamics!
I thought about making a rallicross car from it, but it's too nice to do that. I would rather see it go to someone who would triple it’s mileage.
Offers welcome.

That’s the car! Thanks David!

We traded positions doing laps at the Firm at the Challenge track day, convinced me to keep my eyes open for one for the Corolla cup.

Oh, and that car is the 1.6, same drivetrain as mine. I thought it was a 1.8.
