This is so close to what I need but no cigar. If it was a quad cab I'd of bought a greyhound ticket for the weekend!

Just so you know, Crew cab diesel is not a combination that exists normally with these trucks. I think the crew cab stopped in '85 and the Cummins wasn't offered until '89. It's a fairly simple swap to put the Cummins in the early crew cab trucks and has been done several times, but they never came that way originally. I was also never happy with the 727 in my Cummins D350. terrible gearing for all situations with that engine.
I agree it will likely sell for well over $10K. A rust free '93 Cummins with just over a 100K miles is pretty much a unicorn these days. If I bought it, I'd plan on a manual trans or later automatic swap.
A Desiel really raises the price, I've just gotten a 93 350 15 pass. van less than 100 thou.360 eng. frickin huge.$ 1500.00
with the 4.10 gear I am looking for a 94-95 46H OD tranny, saw a trick to make them shift w/o computer super simple.
but really that engine brings up the Value THAT Much ?
heck fuel cost alone are much higher than Gas and Less MPG.
That thing is all of the awesome, but it will sell for ALL of the money. My guess is that will end up well north of $10k after the dust settles, and then some.
I had a blue and silver 92 LE club cab 2wd 5-speed Cummins for many years. Bought it from the original owner in Sterling Heights MI. Flew out, and drove it home. One of the few vehicles I ever regret selling. That 12-valve Cummins is absolutely legendary, and awesome!!

My Cummins powered trucks would regularly pull 20+ MpG, are good for 500,000+ miles, and will tow double what a 360 Magnum will.
My small block powered trucks get 13-15 at best, are pretty tired by 200K, and run out of breath with a 24' enclosed trailer.
Vans aren't worth anything compared to trucks.

This one is the overdrive A518 transmission, not the 727.
I just clicked the link. I think this will hit $15K easily. Maybe more.
Ultra low mileage intercooled, Club Cab, 4wd, and a rust free (or nearly so) PNW truck with a winch and a matching cap? The only thing it needs to be the Holy Grail is the 5 speed.
So glad to see everyone else geeking out over 'all of the awesome' too. Thanks for the heads up Daylan; I'm unfortunately at the stage of life where four full doors with side SRS and other silly things are requirements. The particular auction site I found this on doesn't sort well and isn't easily searched so I came across this by fat fingering the listings. I was just starting middle school when this rig was made but my research had indicated it should have the 518 OD :-). I had hoped that were the price to stay under the radar another GM'er might be able to enjoy it.
SWMBO has reminded me I'd have to swap the cap for a pop up were I to bring it home as I'd be moving into it permanently.
In reply to Professor_Brap :
Agreed.
Could have bought one nearly as nice, a little more miles, no rust, but bad paint and some whiskey dents for under $8k off of FB. All the first gen Dodges go for big money on PS.
In reply to Cooter :
Back couple years ago I was getting all my good deals on diesels off Public Surplus sites.
do ya'll think it's worth the work to put an OD in the van (ram350/360 4.10) most miles will be hiway
like driving, and a mid size enclosed but more likely just an open flat trailer car hauler.
no dreams of duelly rear or tricking it out much, just very roomy and comfortable, and paint.
In reply to GTXVette :
I try to put an OD trans in 'most anything I own. Especially if it sees highway miles. I even put one behind a 440 in one of my Dodge trucks.
I'm surprised your van doesn't already have an overdrive. My '91 did.
In reply to Cooter :
Suprised me Too, 12/93 build date. I got it with tranny trouble, Sitting for years dried out the band and two pieces about 3" long came out when I serviced the trans. It SEEMS good but not gonna chance a lot. so an OD is in the hunt.
But Hey, on the band is it two strips around the band ( of fiber) or one skinny one. with what fell out of the pan I hope there are two strips on the Band.
Same legnth appear to be from a side by side strips
Is it true any 94/95 OD 2wd trans. Hyd. of course will go in. We are covered up in Jeeps around here. But You Say yours was a 91 ?
A Couple yards here get a lot of big Vans but I didn't know which had OD since mine didn't
In reply to GTXVette :
Honestly easiest way to tell is look at the trans. The case is noticeably different. Tail housing is much bigger on the OD trans becsause of, well, there's another gear in the tail housing of the OD trans.
In reply to GTXVette :
The shifter is still prnd21 on a 46rh or e truck. There will however be either an "OD off" switch on the dash or on the end of the shifter. The 4th gear is actually like an add on 2 speed on the back of the trans.
Well DAYMN,
That Thing is Tiny, The Button that Is. right above the Mirror adj. thanks , this thing could be better than I thought. I'll make a thread about other problems.
There are two different OD transmissions that will fit. You want a 2wd one from behind a small block Chrysler V8. The Jeep ones won't work. You want an A518/46RH with a pan shape like one on the right. (The pan gasket on the right is flipped upside down compared to the one on the left if you are looking at the transmission from the top- the cut off corner should align on both) The one on the left is really too lightweight for a van of your size without upgrades.
The overdrive button is on the dash for all of these years. Ford used the button on the stalk.
Glad you found the button. It would have been really weird not to have O/D. You also should have the 5.9 Magnum in your '93, which was a substantial upgrade from the TBI 360 that I had in my Grey Whale.
