Someone here has one, and has had the hull redone and went through 2 motors to get them going strong.

Racing boats are very much like an airplane   They actually fly on the 2 forward sponson's     With the arc of the center of the hull determining lift.  The power of the engine determining height.   And body English defining balance.    Add a little extra or a little less power and it goes from controllable to flipped faster than you can blink.
Plus the basics apply.  If you hit a wave longitudinally it will try to roll you over, when you hit a wave tangentially you need throttle control to prevent you from getting too much air under the hill and flipping you over.
Smaller hulls like that are best driven by youngsters with lightening fast reactions.
While the big heavy unlimiteds need drivers seated using one foot on the throttle and the other controlling the cavitation plates.   That balancing act is a real challenge passing in the corners. Or having all that spray blinding you from actually seeing what's going on.
My flat bottom drag boat was too brutally fast to stay with.  You actually had to know what it was going to do way ahead so you could react to the wave in the less than a second before you got there.
  It's thrilling.
