So, umm, I bought this Miata at the end of last year and started working on it but there is a problem. It doesn't appear to be a flood car exactly but the torn top let water in so badly that the wiring harness appears to be shot.
It's a 1992 C-package car (cruise/AC/PW/Nardi shifter). 185ish thousand miles. The car did run and drive....once. Apparently the electricity flowing through the corroded connections have cause them to go all catawompus and it no longer runs. I say this to clarify that the mechanical bits are there and work, the problem is electrical.
When I got the car I replaced the gas tank, fuel filter, injectors, slave cylinder, vinyl top, drivers seat, and rebuilt the shifter. Installed Koni sport shocks on NB springs, NB wheels, tires are poor but hood air.
replaced fluids in engine, trans, brakes, diff.
Paint is poor, like really poor so count on painting it.
The goodest part however in the whole car is that it's a rust free tub. Like really rust free in the 1/4 panels. There is some surface rust on suspension components but it's a genuinely solid pop-up headlight Miat.
I bought it on an impulse and have spent too much time and effort on it. $2000 is my break even to get out of the car. Located in Central Kentucky. Can deliver for fuel cost as far as 500 miles.
