This isn’t super related to GRM, but I listed my R/C Comanche on eBay last night and figured some in this crowd might be interested. Details: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F113812782892

I've been trying to avoid it. A new RC shop opened about a year ago across the main road from me.  About 6 months ago they added an indoor track and crawler set up.  But as much as I would like to get a car or three, I really don't have time nor space for another hobby right now. sad

That thing is very cool! I've been looking into getting into the hobby for about a year now, but didn't know if I could fit it within my budget. Good luck with the sale!

I would love to be, but I have too many hobbies/projects to jump into the deep end of another one.

I want pictures and video.

I love my Scout... It is a very fun hobby. My son and I are going to WV soon and we go off-roading up the mountain, then we play with our scale crawlers up at the top, then off-road right back down. Bring snacks and avoid bears. My son's is an Axiel like yours, they are a fantastic platform. And I REALLY like the Comanche body. Funny part is the mods are nearly unlimited for scale crawlers, just like real world cars!

That's what I'm afraid of. Between cars, bikes and guitars (not to mention my house...), I am already at the maximum on expensive hobbies.   I still have some RC stuff from the early 80's, but haven't touched them in ages.

Now you know how I feel!  Having a shop that sells this stuff within walking distance of my house (less than 1/4 mile away) has been an incredible exercise in restraint.

And yeah, this hobby is still way cheaper than racing real cars, but adds up quick. I've bought numerous real cars for less than I have in this little Jeep.

Seeing how this one is sale pending...

Is there a good all inclusive one for a youth?  My son really really really wants a legit RC truck and a rock crawler seems to be a good option.

I don't want to get him some super premium thing but want something better then the NewBright AA battery type things that he has now.

He really likes Jeep Wrangler type vehicles.

So: good beginner all in one RTR truggy..  GO!

Anybody want a vintage Tamiya Hotshot?  I may have one complete and one in pieces that I could part with.  They rereleased them last year, that' how cool they are.

Perhaps, what do you want $$ for it?

The SCX in this thread is more of a slow technical offroad thing. Some people have converted them to do speedy things but they aren't great at it. If that's what you want you can get an RTR SCX 10 as low as $300 new it looks like. Good solid rig with lots of support behind it. Almost every company that makes scale crawler bits makes stuff for the SCX 10. A lot of people use them as a platform to build comp rigs if you really want to go deep into it. They are really capable out of the box just doing some obstacles in the yard or trails and such though

As long as we're going down this RC rabbit hole, I feel compelled to post this again:

Were I to get back into RC, I would do this.  I have no problem with cutting a course through my back yard... devil

Honestly I have put way too much thought into cutting a tiny rally stage through the  back yard here...

I keep thinking I could do a tiny pump track/RC loop along the edge between lawn and flower beds. Wouldn't be ideal for either use, but being able to do either in the backyard would be pretty rad...

I saw one of those recently and thought - I bet you could buy a REAL Cherokee for les than that kit!  And you can.

Ah, but what I *really* can't afford is time to take a real Cherokee to where it would be any fun...

Well...okay I guess I see your point. Anything you even need a lift for (besides mud) is a 3 hour drive from me.

$145 to your door??  That doesn’t sound like much at all!
