NMNA. Sounds like a cool car!

Go racing this weekend!! Ready to race package with everything you need.
1988 Audi 80q (NG motor)
The 130hp in-line five engine may not seem like much by today's standards, but in the gravel it delivers the perfect balance of grip and slip. Lightening the chassis to 2,600lb allows the car to stay within the rally rules and be light enough to confidently throw the car into some scary turns and still feel confident.
On tarmac road courses it does surprisingly well with the rally suspension by brut forcing the car along the inside, but losses ground quickly in the straights to the higher hp cars. It'll never be a great road racer in its' current configuration, but certainly is fun anyway....especially when it rains!
The way this car handles is so predictable and responsive that it just becomes intuitive. You can steer with the wheel, with the brakes, or through the throttle and it just becomes an extension of your body when pushing it in a race.
It makes a damn good HomeDepot runner too...I can get 23 bags of mulch in that sucker.
I put over $13,000 into the rebuild in 2004 and it's in excellent mechanical condition with just a couple body scuffs from racing. It's only seen 3 rally sprints on gravel and 3 rally-x. Meets NASA rally specs for Stock 4 wheel class except needs a roll cage.
I did most of the 80q rally car upgrades myself and was meticulous about all the mechanical work, the remainder of the work was done by the local Audi dealer.
Here's what's been done:
Engine: - engine is running very strong - no oil consumption during events - almost all new sensors - all fluids replaced and oil changed after every race w/ Valoline racing oil. - New FPR - All new filters & an extra K&N filter - New timing belt, wp, etc. - All hoses & electrical chafe guarded - Radiator fan override switch. - Heater core replaced (not connected), radiators original - new distributor - new shifter linkage - Exhaust in great shape, but I removed the rear exhaust and had a pipe welded in - new exhaust manifold gaskets & exhaust heat wrapped - fuel lines run internally w/ aeroquip
Drivetrain: - All half-shafts replaced in 2004 - rebuilt prop shaft in 2004
Suspension: - totally replaced from the subframe down (including subframe bushings) - right front strut blown...eh, I just need to find time to replace it.
Brakes: - Hawk HPS pads w/ Brembo rotors, calipers rebuilt, new hoses - Fly-off hand brake - e-brake cables replaced
Steering: - pump, TRE inner & outer new - original steering rack w/ torn boot...may be close to rebuild time. - All steering column switches migrated to toggles on dash.
Body: - All power windows intact and working - new headlights and corner markers. - Florida car, garage kept since I've owned it, no rust - dent in driver's door (oops, tagged a barrel and sent it 30 yards to win the 'Longest Barrel' award for that race)
Interior/Safety: - Interior gutted - No electrical gremlins - Interior blower motor voltage regulator needs replacement (high speed only) - trip meter & odometer not working (speedo, tach ok, & illumination ok) - New Momo Cup GT seats (excellent condition) - Sabelt 6 point harnesses (2 years left on the certification) - Momo steering wheel and Sparco hub - All necessary safety gear - Comes with 8 extra rims and tires.
- and a bunch of stuff I can't remember (basically a total rebuild)
It comes with a full racing team including all racing gear.
I've won 3 out of 6 races (with one 3rd place) including an overall win in the last rally sprint against a bunch of Subaru STIs...it's a winning car!!!
