Looks to make as much sense as spending multiples of what a car is worth on shocks and tires to miss a few cones. Or spending 2*10^6 hours on a rusty hulk to try and beat others in a drag race, concourse and autocross. In other words it looks like someone has put a lot of time and effort into an automobile that 99.99% of the population doesn't understand. Good on them.
