Caged ‘02 Impreza in VA - NMNA

Anyone recognize this Impreza? The GRM sticker is worth something, right?

One door is not dented. 

Very much not a rally cage.  I think I recognize what's left of those door decals from the long-defunct rallysprint series at Summit Point?

Good point - I just glanced at the pics and now that you point it out, that looks like an awfully lightweight "cage." I was thinking it would be a nice start for a RallyCross car. 

Did they go around the dash with the cage? Seems like something you would do in a show car, not a race car. And that definitely isn't a show car...

Looks like a CUSCO cage. YUCK!!!!!

$950 for 2 Sparco seats and rally wheels/tires, sell the rest for $800?  Hmm.

I think they were trying to get $3k for that a year ago. I bet $500 cash and arriving with a trailer would probably move it.

Says "comes with stock seats and 6 wheels". I sorta took that as "race seats not included at this price", but I work nearby and sent a message that's gone unresponded to.

He responded to me.  Apparently he was going to build a drift car out of it, and the project stalled. 

The undercarriage has more rust than we Southern peeps like but it's nowhere near the worst I've seen.

Yep, I got a reply later today. I may go look at it tomorrow or Friday. Just for kicks. Can't see where this car fits in my life, but it's close by and interesting, and just close enough to my current 06 Impreza to make some part of me think I could make a better car from some combo of the two. I couldn't. Or more accurately, wouldn't.

Well, if you pick it up and don't want some of the wheels, let me know- especially if there is a set of 15" wheels which will clear the 2006 WRX brakes. 

Hell, if it turns out you check it out and it isn't as crusty and awful as it looks, let me know.

Will do. Too cold and windy today...can't motivate myself to go up there. Maybe tomorrow. But looking at the forecast, I'm just going to have to wake up in the mood to go look at a car I don't need, in spite of the cold/wind.
