Totally random find...
'08 Prius with 199k asking $1,800. Claims to have a bad inverter pump. If that is true, $25 for Chinesium via Amazon, $100 for Dorman improved version from FLAPS, $200 for Genuine.
I'd start with the Amazon unit. Replacement, even if you have to do it twice is easy. How to video. In that video jump to the 4:30 mark where he then shows the easy, "behind the headlight method"
Once done, bleeding the inverter coolant is easy, video. Really just a 2ft section of hose.
If it is a bad inverter pump it can also blow a 15a fuse labeled AM2. See this video in the last minute. This being blown will give you a "no start" situation. Bring a few spare 15a fuses if you go to inspect the car.
Limited pictures but the wheels on this car implies it is the touring model which means every option including leather and nav.
$5k car if back to running
Car is 2 minutes from my house. I'm going to hit him up. I have been wanting to snag a Prius as a daily. This would be perfect.
I should have your number but I couldn't find it so I PMed mine to you

Go grab it. Ask questions later. If you determine you don't want it, it would be an easy flip. Heck I'd even fly and drive for that one.

Let me know if you pass, I'll take it. I'm less than 2 hours away.
Messaged him. His messenger account currently says that he isn't accepting messages. I recognize the neighborhood so I'm gonna go by tomorrow. Wish me luck LOL.
The dude hasn't responded to my messages. Went by his house Sunday and Today after work. The car was not in his driveway.
Maybe he sold it but hasn't marked it as sold. I'm truly debating knocking on his door. But I don't want him to be weirded out that I knew where he lived from the photos he posted. HA!
If he, like so many today, don't have the courtesy to respond or mark sold, weird him out! He deserves it.
So, a car that needs $25 and less than an hour to go from $1,800 to an easy $3,800. Even more money if everything is right/corrected. I know this but I'm sure I'm not the only one who knew this!
When I posted this the ad was a few days old and I was surprised it was still up. This is the kind of car that sells the same day you list it. When I read of "not responding to messages" I expected it was gone. Judgements made from the sellers profile imply that he is not FMP savvy (and likely not diy car repair savvy,)
I imagine the " not responding to messages" was something he did to stop the flood of inquiries he was getting. After that, "out of sight and out of mind."
If its easy to drive by, I'd still drive by a few times capturing day and night times . He may have just found trying to sell it to be too overwhelming. If it's there, a note on the windshield might be the "simple" he's looking for.
Another poorly presented ad that is worth asking questions...
2007 with 103k asking $3k
With low miles, that's a $6k+ car if all is right.
In reply to John Welsh :
We all understand that F B M is 90% inconsiderate people, that can not read or write in complete sentences, and flood posters with irrational responses.
Does not mean that being inconsiderate in return is acceptable behavior.
But, these days, maybe that is just me.
Im going by today and knocking on the door!
