Well, if you wanted one, that would be the one to get - 73's had the 3L motor, and a 5 speed was rare, most had a 3 spd auto trans.
On the other hand, this one pretty much needs everything.......
I defy anyone to tell me they actually like the feel of the brakes on these things.

Is that a black Studebaker in the background? Seems much nicer to own and deal with than an SM.

I don't think there are many around that don't need everything.

I drove Citroens for many, many years......I had a 1960 ID 19 and later a 72 D special......I had no issues with the brakes, with pedal feel or response. These had way oversized discs for the days and the stopping power was amazing.

Every time I reach for the "pedal" in any of the button equipped Citroens (SM primarily) I audibly panic. Maserati Boras as well.

Well, my D special didn't have the mushroom button, it had a regular pedal although the system was the same. But.....I did like the brakes - they were awesome! The way the suspension is designed as part of the over all hydraulic system, as the weight comes off the back of the car and the suspension arm drops it lessens the power sent to the rear brakes, I think it's impossible to lock the back end up in a panic stop. In fact, if you raise the car up on a lift and hit the brakes, there is NO pressure sent to the rears at all, the wheel just spins! Fun stuff!
I drove many Citroens with the mushroom pedal (I worked for a Citroen dealer as a mechanic way back then) and I never had an issue modulating the pressure with that pedal, tho I know some people did as they expected more travel. Once you learned how far or hard to push, it was easy and I liked them just fine.
