Just in time for a winter beater. 1998 Ranger 3.0 V6 5 Speed. 198k miles.
Not perfect, but seems to run and drive fine. 4x4 and the heat works. Would be a fun winter beater. The danger comes from the airbag light flashing, I think it needs a new crash sensor. Located near Grand Rapids. 1800 obo. PM for more info, mine.

Seriously. Anyone know why the Ranger MTs are rated to tow so much less than the ATs? I'd love to have a truck capable of towing 5k ish. (c/d/e are rear axle ratios of 3.55/3.73/4.10)
I guess I'm asking if you can fudge the MT numbers up a bit because the AT models are rated higher.
This truck has a hitch, but cant comment on its towing prowess.
Speculating here, but apparently the manual transmission was the M5OD-R1, and in 2001 they started using an HD upgraded version of said transmission with the SOHC engine, so I guess the non-HD version is just not very strong.

Regardless, good luck with the sale.

How is a truck that old in Michigan not made of green cheese? Very impressive.

Oh it's got rust, but nothing catastrophic.
$1500 sound better to anyone?
If that was a southern truck it would be long gone.

If it was a southern truck I'd keep it!
